In full countdown to MWC 2016, manufacturers continue to announce their results from last year, and now it is ZTE's turn to make its numbers public: China managed to sell more than 100 million devices in 2015. This was revealed the Asian manufacturer himself through a press release in which he reported in detail his sales data during the past year.
Along with the presentation of these results, the Chinese company also announced a 43% growth in its profits and a 23% growth in total revenues. However, as explained by ZTE, the increase in sales is not only concentrated in the world of mobility, but also exceeded its figures in all the sectors in which it operates, which marked a milestone in its history by signing up more than 100 million technological devices sold during the past year.
However, smartphones have a great weight in the business of the company, since of those 100 million devices sold, China confirmed that 56 million correspond only to the sale of mobile terminals. Thus, with this number of mobile phones sold, ZTE grew by 16% compared to 2014, ranking sixth among smartphone sellers in 2015 and fifth if we talk about LTE mobiles worldwide, such as confirm the most recent data from the CounterPoint consultancy.
ZTE also revealed that this growth has been thanks to the expansion of the brand in key markets such as Western Europe, Japan and Oceania. Another of the markets where ZTE achieved great growth in 2015 was in the United States, where it ranked fourth in the sale of mobile phones and second in the prepaid sales market. For this new year, the company hopes to reach third place in the sale of mobile phones.
With respect to the European market, the manufacturer revealed that during 2015 ZTE device sales soared by 400%, thanks to a strategy that will continue this year with the launch of new mid-range and high-end equipment. In the case of Spain, the manufacturer's growth has been strengthened thanks to the good acceptance of the terminals of the Blade family, such as the Blade L3, the Blade S6 or the Blade V6. The brand has also announced a new strategy that it will apply in Spain, with which it will expand its presence in the market with various events and campaigns.
For this 2016, ZTE will seek to strengthen its brand image, so it will try to gain a foothold in the high-end market with the distribution of its flagships of the AXON family, terminals with great power and quality. And we must remember that in mid-February the company will make the ZTE Axon mini available to the Spanish market , which we analyze in detail here.
Thus, the results of ZTE make clear the trend of sustained growth that Chinese manufacturers have in the world of mobile technology, where they are conquering an increasing market share thanks to their proposals that combine mobile terminals with competitive characteristics and careful design, at cheaper prices compared to the proposals of the leading brands in the market.
