Samsung wants to have its own terminal without a personalization layer. Xiaomi has made the rounds with its Xiaomi Mi A1 and the Korean brand does not want to miss placing one of its own terminals on the throne of the entry range. Android GO is the version of Google's operating system adapted to the most basic terminals in terms of performance, so its price can be greatly reduced without its quality being questioned.
A simple terminal for a very specific audience
In this case, Samsung would bet on the starting range with a configuration equipment and basic features, for users who want the mobile only for what is necessary: call by phone, check networks and mail and take the occasional photo or two. Its screen would be 5 inches, a bit small for what we are used to seeing but that will convince those who think that mobiles are usually too big. The panel will be Super AMOLED with those vibrant colors that characterize screen technology.
As for its interior, we see how we remain in the entry range. Its processor will be an Exynos 7570 at a clock speed of 1.4 GHz accompanied by 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage with the possibility of increasing it by inserting an SD card. It may seem like little memory, but the ANDROID GO terminals are optimized to go well with these low features.
As for the graphics, nothing new under the sun of the starting range, 13 and 5 megapixels in the main and selfie cameras respectively. Its body will be made of plastic to cut costs and its price, precisely, we do not know anything yet, although it is quite likely that it will not exceed 100 euros because it is a very basic terminal. A phone, in short, for whom the mobile phone is only an instrument for occasional use and for the lightest and most basic functions. To finish, we will have a 2,600 mAh battery and version 8.1 of Android Oreo.
We will be attentive to its release on the market, still unknown if we will have it on European soil or if it will remain exclusively in the Asian market.
