As we all know, and due to the critical situation we are experiencing due to the coronavirus health crisis, Google canceled its usual Google I / O developer conference in which we used to see the news of the new version of its operating system, Android. This does not mean that we are leaving 2020 without seeing the birth of Android 11, far from it. On June 3, an event will take place, organized by Google, and broadcast to the whole world through YouTube, in which information about the beta of the next version of the Android system will be reported.
Android 11: on June 3 you have a date with the green robot
The Google developer page has been updated and you can see the announcement of the next event that will replace the classic Google I / O. This event is called ' Android 11: The Beta Launch Show ' and can be followed on YouTube on Wednesday, June 3 at 5:00 p.m., Spanish time. The announcement of this event has also been seen through YouTube itself on the official channel of Android developers. You can take a look at it below.
If you do not want to miss details about all the news that Android 11 will include, on the official page you can mark a reminder of the event. For now, Android 11 is available in preview mode, a version of the system that can only be used by application creators and developers.
And what do we know, for now, about the news that could come in Android 11? We will discuss them below for points.
Screen recording
One option that many of us miss when using Android is being able to record the screen natively without having to rely on third-party tools. It is common for content creators, whether they are tutorials or gameplays, to be able to record everything we do on our mobile on video and, for now, we can only do it using applications developed by other manufacturers, except in terminals such as Xiaomi. As of Android 11, this will change, as this version will incorporate a shortcut in the notification bar with which we can start recording the screen.
Pin apps to 'Share'
It is our day to day, we share photos, videos, files, through other applications, using the classic 'Share' button. Now, we can set the most common apps as default and place it among the first four. A shortcut that saves us precious time.
Advanced permissions
In Android 11 we will have other options, different from the current ones, when granting permissions to the applications we download, and that is that we can tell it to only 'spy' on us when we are using it. In other words, why does WhatsApp want to always have access to our camera if we are not taking photos all day through the messaging app? Now we can grant permissions only when we are using a certain application. In this way, we gain privacy. We also have the option to allow 'only once' or deny permission. 'Always allow' will have disappeared.
A dark mode that can be programmed
Although this function can already be found in the customization layer of other mobiles, such as those of the Xiaomi or Realme brand, on Android we cannot program the dark mode, that is, allow it to be activated and deactivated at certain times. In Android 11 we can program the dark mode in the stock version.
