No terminal that appears on the market is free from the fact that, in its daily use, errors may appear that interfere with its normal and daily use. Yes, it is assumed that high-end terminals would have to come more prepared to face these moments of malfunction, but not even they are spared. In this case, we want to help all those users who own the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and who encounter the odd failure or inconvenience.
These are some of the most common errors or failures that users of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 have reported and their solution. Do not forget to save this special in the bookmarks of your favorite browser so that you always have the special at hand. Bugs can reach your terminal when you least expect it.
My Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 gets too hot
Some users have reported that their Redmi Note 7, in some situations, presents a high temperature, especially in load situations or when we are playing very demanding video games. Due to this, the game may experience jumps, lags and crashes, the device may restart itself or present a different operation than expected. To solve this problem, we must take the following precautions.
- Unplug the charger terminal if you were charging it. Do not leave it connected to the mains for too long if it shows symptoms of overheating. It is not bad per se to leave the phone charging overnight but if it gets too hot, the best thing is that, as soon as you charge it, you unplug it.
- While you are charging it avoid using it and less to play demanding video games. The best thing is that you leave it charging without being subjected to any overload.
- Take breaks when you subject your mobile to long games of video games.
- Try disconnecting GPS connectivity and mobile data for a while if you are connected to WiFi.
Notifications don't appear in the bar
One of the most reported errors by users and for which, unfortunately, the solution does not yet exist. It happens that, in order for the user to know whether or not they have notifications, they have to lower the curtain, the icon does not appear. This is due to an incompatibility of the drop-type notch design with the aforementioned notifications. However, in a future OTA, Xiaomi assures that this error will be corrected, so the only thing left is to wait.
My battery doesn't last long
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 has a huge 4,000 mAh battery. In our tests we have reached a day and a half of use (with the night in between) with about 6 hours of screen. This means that if, for example, you do 7 hours of screen but only arrive a day or you have other similar variants, it would be within the normal range (more hours of screen less days of use). But if your phone reaches the day and you see that the screen hours are only 4 or even less, you have a problem.
What we advise you in this case is that you uninstall all the applications that come by default with the MIUI customization layer, such as 'MIUI Forum' or 'Xiaomi Store'. And, also, that you disable the Google applications that are also installed by default and that we will never use. In my case, for example, I have disabled 'Duo', 'Play Movies' and 'Play Music'. And I have to say that I have gained some autonomy (although if what we really want is to save battery, we will have to uninstall Facebook, a real drain).
It is not, a priori, easy to disable Google applications on our Redmi Note 7. For this we are going to perform the following steps.
- We enter the settings section of our phone and, in the search bar, put 'Language'
- In the search results, click on the option ' Languages and text input '
- On the next screen, in the 'Languages' section, choose English for the United Kingdom (English United Kingdom) and wait for the launcher to restart.
Now we are going to open the Google Play Store application. You will see everything in English, so if languages are not your thing, be guided by the screenshots that we attach.
- In the side menu of the application we will enter the section ' Help & Feedback '
- Next, we enter the ' Delete or disable apps on Android ' section. If this option does not appear, click on 'Browse all articles' and look for it on this screen.
- On the next screen, click on ' Tap to go to Application Settings '
And now here we are going to disable the Google applications that you do not use. You just have to look for it and click on 'Disable'.
- Then do not forget to go back into the settings and, in the search bar, now instead of putting 'Language' put 'Language' and enter 'Languages & Input'.
- Then go back to the Spanish language and that's it.
Finally, restart the mobile for the system to settle and go. You'll see how you're going to earn a battery percentage.
Also, to save more battery, you can turn off location services in your Google account.
I have sudden reboots or the mobile turns off suddenly
Sometimes, we are using our phone and it happens that it restarts itself without our mediation. Either it turns off, without further ado, or the screen freezes. This is due to failures in the software that the mobile detects and forces a restart or shutdown so that the system does not suffer too much. If this happens only once, don't worry, it's normal. But if the failure is more continuous, try the following.
- Charge your phone to 100% and then let the battery drain to 0%
- Clean junk files from your phone. In addition to some third-party applications that you can use, our MIUI customization layer has a tool to thoroughly clean our phone.
- If your mobile has been blocked while you were using a certain application, restart the terminal by forcing it and clear the cache of said application.
Some notifications do not reach me
Obviating the question that the notification icon does not remain on the mobile, you must bear in mind that MIUI has a function to 'turn off' the applications in the background. To exclude some applications from this system we must go to the section of 'Battery and performance0' and in 'Select applications' choose ' No restrictions ' if you want to receive all their notices. Be careful though, because this can cause your battery to drop dramatically.
