It is increasingly common to find brands that renew their terminals in a very short space of time, even within the same year. We have been seeing it for several seasons on OnePlus mobiles (the OnePlus 7T is its last, and doubtful, contribution) and this year in Samsung's mid-range (with the new Samsung Galaxy A30s and A50s). Do these renovations benefit in such a short term or, on the contrary, can they cause a rebound effect and tire the user? To this debate we have to integrate a new participant, Xiaomi. The Chinese brand had yet to launch the renewal of one of its latest mobiles, the Redmi Note 8 Pro and join the bandwagon of this new trend. Its name, Redmi Note 8T.
Will Snapdragon return to the Redmi range?
The Redmi Note 8 Pro is a mobile with very interesting features and a fairly content price that, however, has left many with a bad taste in their mouths. In this model the brand has decided to implement a Mediatek processor instead of the usual, and always efficient, Snapdragon. What's 'bad' about a Mediatek processor compared to a Snapdragon? In this special we try to shed light on the matter, being it quite clear that, when in doubt about whether to buy a terminal with Mediatek or Snapdragon, we would always bet on the second.
Well, Xiaomi fans seem to have been listened to, and the brand assumes that Snapdragon is a plus of quality, since in the revamped version of the Redmi Note 8 we would find the Snapdragon 730G, a machine with a 15% higher graphic performance to the Snapdragon 730 that we saw in other Xiaomi terminals with 'T' in the name (hello, Xiaomi Mi 9T). This processor would support photographic sensors of up to 192 megapixels and are focused on terminals that will give the chest do in terms of performance in video games. Not for nothing the 'G' that accompanies the name of the processor corresponds to the word 'Gaming' (game).
Of course, none of this is confirmed yet and everything must remain speculative. We will have to wait for the next few weeks to see more reliable information about it. What we do have extensive information about is its supposed predecessor, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro.
