Doubts about the continuity of the Pocophone brand are beginning to spread throughout the telephony industry, which does not see clear that Xiaomi continues to work on it. The reason: the new Redmi K range, with an affordable price and features and design typical of a flagship mobile. According to Navkendar Singh, research director at IDC India, there is little reason to think that Xiaomi will continue to invest time and money in launching a new terminal under the Pocophone label. In any case, the company has not yet ruled on the matter, so it is possible that everything remains in rumors without more.
The recently announced Redmi K20 (Xiaomi Mi 9T in Spain) would be a good reason to think that Xiaomi has abandoned the Pocophone brand. This model surprised by its triple sensor of 48, 13 and 8 megapixels, its front sensor of 20 megapixels or its Snapdragon 730 processor along with 6 GB of RAM memory. But in addition, the Redmi K20 also comes with a 6.39-inch panel with Full HD + resolution, 4,500 mAh battery with 25 W fast charge or on-screen fingerprint sensor. All this at a price of just over 300 euros and with an all-screen design, without notch or perforations, in which the camera for selfies stands out from the top in retractable mode.
Currently, the Pocophone F1 is sold in PhoneHouse for 225 euros, a price slightly lower than the Xiami Mi 9T or Redmi K20, but it should not be forgotten that it includes less outstanding features (except for the processor). The Pocophone F1 was launched in August last year, so it has been on the market for almost a year now. If we do memory, it includes a 6.18-inch Full HD + screen with notch, double 12 + 5 megapixel camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with 6 GB of RAM, one of its strengths, or a 4,000 mAh battery with charge Quick Quick Charge 3.0.
It would be logical to think, since it will be a year since its launch, that there would be news of a new Pocophone model for the next few months. However, at the moment there is no news about it, not even leaks. The only thing that has emerged are these rumors about its abandonment, so for now there is no other choice but to think that possibly Xiaomi has ended up throwing in the towel in favor of the new Redmi K20 or Mi 9T family, as we know it in Spain. We will be very aware of new news to inform you promptly.
