Xiaomi is aware that its own market is full of competitors, and it is difficult for the Xiaomi Mi 4 or the Xiaomi Mi Note to continue to stand up to the flagships that manufacturers such as Meizu (with the Meizu Pro 5) or Lenovo (Lenovo Vibe are launching). S1). Xiaomi has just announced an event for October 19, and although at the moment it is unknown which product will be the protagonist of this presentation, there are not exactly few rumors that speak of the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi 5. Apparently, Xiaomi could present this month the new Mi 5, although it would do so having been forced to make a last minute change to the processor.
The image of Xiaomi's presentation on October 19 is official and has been published on the Asian social network Weibo.com, although the only thing that can be seen is a black background accompanied by a date: October 19 of 2015. Taking into account that we have been talking about rumors about the Xiaomi Mi 5 for many months, everything makes us think that this presentation will serve to introduce the new Xiaomi flagship to the market. Of course, if that is the purpose of this presentation, we can forget to see the Snapdragon 820 processor incorporated in the new Xiaomi Mi 5.
It turns out that, this year, Xiaomi has encountered a problem in the manufacture of its flagship: as much as the Mi 5 is ready to go on the market, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor that was planned to incorporate this mobile will not be ready until practically the last days of the year, which prevents Xiaomi from launching its mobile before that date. But, as they point out from PhoneArena.com, Xiaomi could finally use a different processor in the Xiaomi Mi 5, leaving the Snapdragon 820 for an alternative version of the Mi 5 that would hit the market next year 2016and, in short, making the launch of this flagship possible before Xiaomi's competition wipes out the high-end market.
And what would then be Xiaomi's solution to this problem? In principle, everything indicates that the new Mi 5 will incorporate a MediaTek MT6797 Helio X20 processor, a ten-core processor that, curiously, could also be incorporated into the next Meizu flagship. This processor is made up of four Cortex-A53 cores running at a clock speed of 1.4 GHz, four Cortex-A57 cores running at 2 GHz and two Cortex-A72 cores running at 2.5 GHz, all accompanied by a Mali-T880 graphics processor. MP4.
Regarding the characteristics of the mobile, at the moment it is rumored that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will incorporate a 5.2-5.3-inch screen with a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels ( some sources also speak of a resolution higher, type Quad HD), 4 gigabytes of RAM, a main chamber 16 megapixels and fingerprint reader, all contained in a metal casing. Regarding the starting price, between 250 and 300 euros is the range in which we would be moving at the launch of the Mi 5.
