Xiaomi has just made the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 official, a phone that follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Xiaomi Mi Max, with a large screen. The new model once again has a 6.44-inch and Full HD resolution. It offers a metallic design with a fingerprint reader on the back. The Asian company has improved the processor and RAM memory in this version. In addition, it has included a larger capacity battery with the possibility of fast charging. The speakers are now stereo and includes a 12-megapixel main camera with f / 2.2 aperture. The device will go on sale soon in China at a price starting at 220 euros.

At first glance, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a device very similar to other Asian models. In fact, he looks a lot like his older brother. It is constructed of metal with slightly rounded edges. It is not too thick or heavy a device. Its exact measurements are 174.1 x 88.7 x 7.6 mm and its weight is 211 grams. If we turn it around, we find a fingerprint reader, perfect for making mobile payments or increasing security.
Screen and power
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has respected the screen size of its predecessor. It still has a 6.44-inch panel and Full HD resolution. This gives it a density of 342 pixels per inch, which is not bad for viewing multimedia content. Inside the device we will find an eight-core Snapdragon 625 processor, accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. The new Mi Max 2 will be available in two different configurations, depending on its internal storage capacity. One of 64 GB and another of 128 GB. Logically the price will affect, as we will see a little later.
Camera identical to that of the Xiaomi Mi 6
Xiaomi has placed a lot of emphasis on the features of the camera of this new equipment. In fact, it is the same that is part of the Xiaomi Mi 6. It therefore has a 12 megapixel main camera with a sensor built by Sony (IMX386). In turn, it integrates PDAF and HDR focus, both for images and videos. Likewise, it also has 1.25 micron pixels , which means that each pixel is capable of capturing a greater amount of information.
For the front camera, Xiaomi has chosen a 5 megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls (with f / 2.0 aperture). That promises a good luminosity for frontal shots. It also offers a good field of vision thanks to its 85º lens.
Battery with Quick Charge 3.0
The battery of the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has grown in this version to 5,300 mAh. It also offers a Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging system thanks to the Qualcomm processor. That means that we can charge 68% of its capacity in just one hour, offering us up to two days of autonomy. Regarding the connections section, the new device has 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. Xiaomi has not specified if it will have NFC, so it may or may not include it.
Price and availability
The new Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will go on sale soon in China. As for the price, the device will go on sale in its two options depending on the version:

- My Max 2 4GB and 128GB: 260 euros to change.
