With the arrival of the new Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, which joins the already consolidated Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi 9T, the Asian company sets the bar very high this 2019 with three balanced models, with current features at a very competitive price. The Mi 9T Pro inherits many of the benefits of its range siblings, now with a more evolved design with respect to the standard Mi 9, in which the reduction of frames is notable. This new model also equips a larger battery, and the 3,500 mAh of the Mi 9 now goes to 4,000 mAh.
However, if we compare it with the Mi 9, the Mi 9T Pro has not grown at the processor or RAM level. Nor has he done too much in the photographic section. In this sense, we can say that it is very close to its predecessor, so many will wonder. Is the leap worth it? The purchase decision is quite complicated, so to help you out of doubt we are going to try to break down the main differences between the two terminals point by point.

Design and display
One of the big differences between the Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi 9T Pro is found in the design. The Mi 9T Pro has a front practically occupied by the panel, specifically 86.1% , which makes it the main protagonist of the device. Also, unlike its older brother, it does not include notch. For the front sensor, a retractable system has been chosen that only comes to the surface when taking a photo.

If we turn them around, they are both made of glass with a feeling of being very well built, with materials that shine creating a multicolored-mirror effect, which gives them a quite premium appearance. However, the Xiaomi Mi 9 has its triple camera located in a different position with respect to the Mi 9T Pro. This is located in the upper left corner, leaving the terminal more free, with a perhaps cleaner and not so overwhelming feeling. The triple camera of the Mi 9T Pro is located in the central part. In this sense, it presents the same design as the Mi 9T that we met last June. Another aspect that we want to highlight is the dimensions, the Mi 9T Pro is somewhat thicker and heavier than the Mi 9: 156.7 x 74.3 x 8.8 mm and 191 grams of weight vs 155 x 75 x 7.6 millimeters and 173 grams, respectively.
And if you miss the fingerprint reader because you can't see it physically, don't worry. Both the Mi 9 and the Mi 9T Pro have one under the screen, so they are at the level of most current models on the market.
When it comes to displays, both include a 6.39-inch one with a 1,080 x 2,280-pixel FHD + resolution. Of course, while the Mi 9 is Super AMOLED, the Mi 9T Pro is AMOLED. Also, the two offer a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio with 403 pixels per inch and HDR10 content support. In addition, they are reinforced by the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 system, so they are quite resistant to shocks and falls.

Processor and memory
The Mi 9 and Mi 9T Pro share a processor. This is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, an eight-core SoC up to 2.84 GHz, which provides them with good performance and power, and which also stands out for its minimal power consumption. This is accompanied by an Adreno 640 GPU. Regarding the RAM and storage, the Mi 9 model that is sold in Spain offers 6 GB of RAM + 64 or 128 GB of space. There is an 8GB + 256GB version, although it is exclusive to China. A single version of the Mi 9T Pro has been launched with 6 GB of RAM, with the possibility of choosing it with 64 or 128 GB for storage.

The triple camera, which has become so popular in 2019, is one of the great additions of the Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi 9T Pro. Okay, it is not one of the best on the market, but it behaves quite well when capturing. images in either low or bright light. Specifically, that of the Mi 9 is composed of a first 48 megapixel sensor manufactured by Sony (IMX586) with aperture f / 1.8. This is accompanied by a second 16-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f / 2.2 aperture, as well as a third 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with two-magnification optical zoom. Of course, Artificial Intelligence is not lacking to improve captures and recognize scenes. For selfies we have a single 24 megapixel sensor hidden in the front notch.
For its part, the Mi 9T Pro has inherited the camera from the Mi 9T. It consists of a first Sony IMX586 sensor with 48 megapixels (0.8 micrometer pixels) with f / 1.75 aperture and 79 degrees of field of view. The second wide-angle sensor is 13 megapixels (1.12 μm pixels) with f / 2.4 aperture and 124.8 degrees of field of view. Finally, a third camera with an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor (1.12 μm pixels) , f / 2.4 aperture and 2x optical zoom coexists with both. The retractable front camera consists of a 20 megapixel sensor (1.6 μm pixels) with f / 2.2 aperture.

It should be noted that for the main camera and the front one, Super Pixel technology can be applied to join four pixels into one and thus achieve 12 megapixel images, except for the 48 megapixel option. It has phase detection and contrast focus, and functions related to Artificial Intelligence are also included.
Battery and connections
The battery is another of the things that Xiaomi has improved in the Mi 9T Pro. The device equips a 4,000 mAh with a fast charge of 27 W, which will give us several days of autonomy performing basic tasks. For example, visit a page, take the odd photo, write WhatsApp or consult social networks. With intensive use the life time will be shortened a lot, although it should last for a whole day without problems.
As for the Mi 9's battery, it is 3,500 mAh with 20W fast charging. Taking into account that the benefits are very similar, we can find differences in duration when comparing one with another. In any case, the fast loading and the different optimization options of Android 9 and MIUI 10 should be more than enough so that this issue does not suppose us a headache.

They also integrate a mini audio jack, so wired headphone users won't need to resort to Bluetooth headphones or dipping into adapters.
