One more week, another Xiaomi event. The Asian firm has just launched the renewal of two of the cheapest terminals in its catalog of smartphones. We are talking about the Xiaomi Redmi 9A and the Xiaomi Redmi 9C. While the first comes to renew the characteristics of the Redmi 8A launched a few months ago, the Redmi 9C debuts a new range within the manufacturer's low range. Its price? Less than 75 euros to change.

Same design with minor differences

So is. The two phones have a body made of polycarbonate and a front of 6.53 inches that uses a screen with HD + resolution. The design of the front part replicates the water-shaped notch of the previous generation and improves the optimization of space with respect to the frames. At the back we find a couple of details that make the difference between one model and another.

The first has to do with the presence of a fingerprint sensor on the Redmi 9A. The second aspect is related to the camera module: while the Redmi 9C has a single camera, the Redmi 9A has no less than three cameras. We will talk about the photographic section later.

Betting on Mediatek in the low range

This year Xiaomi has opted for Mediatek to provide the Redmi 9C and Redmi 9A with the necessary power to offer a user experience according to the price. Specifically, the Asian firm has opted for the Mediatek Helio G25 and Helio G35, two models that are on par in power with the Snapdragon 439 of the previous generation Redmi 8A.

When it comes to the memory configuration, Xiaomi's bet is the same on both devices: 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage expandable via micro SD cards. Notably, both the Redmi 9C and Redmi 9A have the same 5,000 mAh battery module. What we do not know is whether they will be compatible with the brand's fast charge.

Bringing the triple camera to Xiaomi's low-end

At least in the most complete model. The Xiaomi Redmi 9A has three sensors of 13, 5 and 2 megapixels with the usual lens configuration (main sensor, wide angle and depth sensor). The Redmi 9C, meanwhile, has a single 13-megapixel sensor, predictably the same as that of the Redmi 9A.

The same happens with the front camera, since both have a single 5 megapixel sensor. It remains to be seen whether they will inherit the facial unlocking system from their predecessors.

Price and availability of the Xiaomi Redmi 9C and 9A

As usual, the presentation of the two terminals took place in China. The price of each of the versions to change leaves us with values of 74 and 89 euros respectively.

At the moment there is no official presentation date in Spain, although everything indicates that they will arrive in the following weeks. They will do so at a price that could be set at 85 and 100 euros if we take previous models of the manufacturer as a reference.
