Xiaomi abandons the support of several Redmi, they will no longer have any more updates
If you have a Redmi phone that is a few years old, it may be time for you to change it. Xiaomi has published some of the models that will be left without receiving updates from now on. Specifically, seven of its terminals will no longer have support, which means that they will not have MIUI 11 or will be able to install any global beta in the future.
Among the seven phones that will no longer receive updates are the following models:
- Redmi 3S
- Redmi pro
- Redmi 4
- Redmi 4A
- Redmi Note 4
- Redmi Note 3
- Redmi 3X
The fact that they stop receiving software updates does not mean that they cannot have security updates. These can continue to be installed, although it is very possible that sooner or later Xiaomi will stop them and the terminals will be completely obsolete. Therefore, the idea is that you change to another more current model that can last a few more years, and that you get the next big system update: MIUI 11.
Recently, the list of smartphones that will be updated to this version was leaked. Many of them will receive MIUI 11 being on Android 8 or Android 9. As you already know, MIUI updates are not linked to Android updates.
