Being able to share the data connection that is paid religiously month to month, is one of the greatest attractions for users who want to work away from home or the office and need an Internet connection. In this way, the customer is freed from having to buy a USB modem and pay another data rate in parallel. With the new Windows Phone 7 update, better known as Mango, the terminals that have it installed will allow them to share their Internet connection as if it were a WiFi modem.
Microsoft has not confirmed anything about what was seen on WPCentral. However, the image with which we accompany this text is quite descriptive; you can share the data connection of the terminal - the US model Samsung Focus in this case - with up to a total of five external computers. Between them, they could be connected to a laptop, a netbook, a touch pad and even a portable media player.
However, it is also pointed out that the operators could have the last word in whether to include this function or not. In other words, operators could reserve the right to remove this function from the Windows Phone Mango menu if they deem it appropriate. Currently there are many operators that do allow it, although it is also true that it always depends on the Internet rate that is contracted next to the terminal.
In any case, it should be remembered that at the end of last July, Microsoft sent mobile manufacturers the final version of the new version of their touch icons. Therefore, little remains to know whether this feature will be available or not. In addition, it would be another benefit that Nokia would see with its Nokia Windows Phone.
