Surprising news affecting the next version of Microsoft's mobile operating system. According to the Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin, one of the most reliable sources when it comes to rumors about Nokia, Windows Phone 9 will undergo a profound redesign of its interface that will lead it to do without its famous tile system, or Live Tiles, in the information of all kinds is displayed and applications are organized on the home screen.
But even more striking is that it will not do so in favor of a unified interface with the successor of Windows 8 for computers and tablets, as had been thought, but rather adopting an aspect more similar to the current Android rather than that of iOS, the Apple's mobile operating system. In any case, whenever the user wishes, he could reactivate the Live Tiles under the new version. Its arrival is scheduled for the second half of 2014, having anticipated the initial plans to distribute it already in 2015.
Among the previous predictions of Eldar Murtazin, stands out the one that spoke about the purchase of Nokia by Microsoft (which eventually ended up being produced), and also states that Windows RT, the specific version of Windows for tablets and convertibles that so many breakdowns of head has given Microsoft, it will cease to exist in its current format, and Windows Phone 9 itself will take its place. Thus, it would follow the path of Apple, which offers an operating system for computers (OS X versus Windows) and another set for smartphones and tablets (iOS versusWindows Phone). Such information, according to Murtazin himself, is not mere speculation, but a direct verification, as he has emphasized through the social network Twitter.
Similarly, Murtazin also confirms that Windows Phone would become free for manufacturers of mobile phones and tablets, which, as is already the case with Android, would not have to pay any fee to install this system and thus reduce the price final commercialization, to capture more market share. All these changes would be communicated in the coming months to some of the brands currently working with Microsoft, with Samsung, Dell and HP at the helm.
It should be remembered that, according to the most recent data from the consulting firm Kantar World Panel, Windows Phone is already the second most used mobile operating system in Spain, tying with iOS with a 10 percent market share thanks to the pull of the Nokia Lumia plus recent, which have in the affordable Nokia Lumia 520 model to its current greatest exponent to be present in one of every four terminals with Windows Phone installed. Next would be the Nokia Lumia 920 (with 12.9 percentof the total) and, if we look at the most popular smartphone on this platform that does not belong to the Finnish company, we would have to go down to sixth place to find the HTC 8X.
