The romance between Microsoft and Nokia continues its journey and already sets its sights on the future of the relationship. So much so that, according to the latest rumors about the idyll, the Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 610 would be testing the next version of the Windows Phone 8 system.
This information comes from two different sources. On the one hand, the specialized site WPCentral refers to information from China, where they would be examining the operation of Apollo "" this is the name of the update that would emerge in the last quarter of the year "" in a Nokia Lumia 800.
On the other hand, an alleged Microsoft employee who participates in Twitter with the nickname @MS_Nerd would have confirmed that the Nokia Lumia 800 is not the only phone in the Windows Phone family of the Finnish firm that would be working as a Windows Phone 8 test bed. : the Nokia Lumia 610 would be another phone from the company involved in the test.
This infiltrator would have recognized that the version with which the operating system is working does not yet operate with all the efficiency it would like, although it seems that it is something that enters the initial plans of the Redmond boys, given the moment in which it is the development of the platform.
The fact that these two mobiles are being, at least, two of the terminals that serve for Windows Phone 8 Apollo to take its first steps in Microsoft laboratories serves to draw several conclusions. To begin with, the idea that the terminals that currently work with Windows Phone 7.5 Mango can receive their update ration could be considered, something that would correct the latest rumors that bet on a stagnation of the current devices that can be obtained in the market with the Microsoft platform.
Furthermore, knowing that the Nokia Lumia 610 is one of the terminals equipped with Windows Phone with the lightest technical profile on the market "" designed so that its price is very affordable and attractive for its target audience "", it could be said that Microsoft would continue to assert itself in its idea that the software that it installs on the terminals of its manufacturing partners should be as efficient as possible. In other words, those in Redmond could continue to shy away from the need to require dual- or quad-core processors to ensure system performance.
Although it is not confirmed by Microsoft, the indications indicate that Windows Phone 8 would be exposed to light in the fourth quarter of the year. Moreover, it would be more than likely that it will be unveiled in October, coinciding with the celebration of Nokia World 2012, which this year will return to Finland after several years being held in London. The idea would be to match the launch of the third generation platform mobile from those of Redmond with the start of trading over Windows 8, the edition dedicated tocomputers and tablets, which is dated precisely for next October.
