It is called WhatSIM and is the first card SIM of the world designed to allow communication through the application of WhatsApp so free and without hiring any data rate. The WhatSIM is priced at ten euros, and can chat without limit through WhatsApp in more than 150 countries (including Spain). This card is intended exclusively for the WhatsApp application, and does not require a data connection or a WiFi connection to allow communication from the mobile through this instant messaging application.
The WhatSIM is completely alien to those responsible for WhatsApp, and has been created by the Italian Manuel Zanella, a businessman specialized in the management of low-cost telephone companies. Of course, with the WhatSIM card only the messages we send through WhatsApp are free, while if we want to send images, videos or voice notes we will have to buy additional credits.
And how does WhatSIM work ? According to its creators, WhatSIM connects with the lines of more than 400 telephone companies in the more than 150 countries in which it is supported. At the moment we do not know the type of connection through which this card works, although its managers indicate that the change of connection between the coverage of one company and another is done automatically without the user noticing.
The credits WhatSIM serve to send images, videos, or voice memos via WhatsApp. Each recharge of five euros adds 1,000 credits to the user's account. The cost of sending multimedia files depends on the country from which the shipment is made, since the consumption of credits is divided into four different zones (each zone with a specific list of countries that can be consulted from this link: http: // www.whatsim.com/en/rates). In any case, sending an image by WhatsApp can cost us from 20 to 200 credits, while if we want to send a voice note we will spend between five and 40 credits.
To give us an idea, in Spain the cost of sharing media files by WhatsApp from the card WhatSIM is as follows: 20 credits for an image, 100 credits for a video and five credits for a voice message. The location and contacts can be shared unlimitedly, at no additional cost.
To buy WhatSIM you need to follow this link: http://www.whatsim.com/en/buy-now. In the event that we want to buy this card from Spain, the shipping costs are five euros, so that the final price that we must pay to be able to use WhatsApp unlimitedly to send messages for a year is 15 euros.
The complete list of countries in which WhatSIM works can be consulted by following this link: http://www.whatsim.com/en/coverage, where we can find countries such as Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Poland or Romania, among many others (more than 150 countries, according to the spokespeople from WhatSIM).
