After several months of waiting, one of the most requested features by users of the WhatsApp application finally arrives. We refer to PiP videos, better known as floating videos. This feature allows us to view any video shared from Facebook, YouTube or any service with videos hosted in a small floating window that we can move to our liking through the application. Until now it was an exclusive feature of the beta version of WhatsApp. Today the stable version is updated worldwide with PiP videos as the most prominent feature.
How to play PiP videos in floating window in WhatsApp
At this time, the safest thing is that you already have the aforementioned function in your WhatsApp application. As we usually recommend in these cases, the best way to have the latest features of the application is to download the latest stable version from Google Play or from the APK Mirror website at this link (to install it from the latter we must activate the Install Unknown sources from Android Settings).
If we already have the latest version, which corresponds to the 2.18.380 termination, then we can now play any video from the Internet in a floating window. To do this, all we have to do is share a video from Facebook or YouTube by clicking on the Share button and select the conversation with which we want to share the video in question. Once sent, we will only have to click on it and it will automatically play as a window within the conversation.
We can move it and even modify its size. We can also reproduce it in full screen without leaving WhatsApp if we click on the respective button. What we cannot do is visualize it outside of the conversation or the application; the only place we can reproduce it is within a group or individual conversation.
Another aspect that we must take into account is that for the video to be compatible with the PiP window, we must share it from the source application through the corresponding Share button. In no case will it work if we copy and paste the link of this directly from the browser in the WhatsApp message drawer, at least it has been under our tests. If by any chance we have not received the aforementioned feature, even updating WhatsApp to the latest version, the only thing we can do is wait for the company to activate it in our region.
