Does the WhatsApp app close without warning on iPhone or won't it open? It is one of the most common errors of the app on apple devices. In most cases, it is because WhatsApp has not yet optimized its application for a new version of iOS. Therefore, we may encounter this error when a new version of iOS for the iPhone has been released recently. Fortunately, there are a few solutions. Here we show you four.
Force close the app
The simplest solution: force close the application. In this way, WhatsApp restarts and will start to open the processes again. Force closing an app on iPhone is very simple. If you have an iPhone with notch and gesture navigation, swipe to the center from the bottom. You will see several windows appear. Find the one for WhatsApp and swipe up to close it. On iPhones with Touch ID it is the same step, but you have to press the home button twice to open the windows.
Update the app
So you can update an application in iOS 13.
WhatsApp is constantly releasing patches with improvements and solutions. It is likely that the error that WhatsApp closes is solved with an update that has already been released, but that the system has not detected yet. Therefore, it has not been updated. You can update manually. To do this, go to the App Store and click on your account icon. In the updates section, check that there is a new version of WhatsApp. Click on the 'Update' button.
Try restarting your iPhone
It is the most classic solution, but also the one that is best in this case. Restarting the iPhone causes all processes and applications to close completely. Therefore, they start again after the phone is turned on again. If there is a process that prevents WhatsApp from opening normally, either because it is not loading correctly or it is not supported, it will be closed. To restart the iPhone, press and hold the power and volume + button. Then slide it off. Turn it back on by pressing the button on the right side until the apple appears.
Uninstall WhatsApp, but not in the common way
So you can uninstall an application on WhatsApp without losing your data.
Another possible solution is to uninstall WhatsApp and reinstall the app. Of course, not in the common way, but from the system settings. This way you will not lose data or conversations and you can easily reinstall WhatsApp.
To uninstall WhatsApp, go to Settings> General> iPhone Storage. Click on WhatsApp. Then click on 'Uninstall app'. The system will warn you that uninstalling WhatsApp will remove the app, but you will be able to keep conversations and other files. Confirm the action and wait for WhatsApp to uninstall. Next, click on 'Reinstall app' and wait for the application to install again. Don't worry if it takes a while.
WhatsApp closes only on iOS 14.2 or higher
If you have the latest version of iOS 14, such as iOS 14.2 or higher and WhatsApp closes unexpectedly, try these steps.
- Go to Settings> WhatsApp
- Disable access to microphone, Photos and camera
- Restart WhatsApp with the above steps
- Open WhatsApp and allow access to the permissions again
With these steps WhatsApp should work correctly. Many thanks to Jeffrey for this contribution in the comments.
