As usual, the British company has released the financial results for the last quarters of 2019. Following the trend of the penultimate quarter, the client portfolio has increased significantly in all the services that the operator currently offers. Although service revenues have fallen again, Vodafone has confirmed that the downtrend is decreasing, as we will see below.
Vodafone begins to rise by recovering customers
The results presented during the first half of 2019 were already beginning to experience a modest recovery. Half a year later, the operator consolidates its recovery by reducing the decrease in service income, which goes from 8% in the second quarter and 9.3% in the first quarter to 6.5% in the last four months. In absolute terms, revenue from services exceeds 966.4 million euros.
If we talk about the number of customers, Vodafone has announced that all its services have experienced significant growth compared to previous periods. The figures presented by the British firm are fixed as follows:
- The mobile tariff client portfolio with contract increases by 19,000 new hires.
- The fiber and fixed customer portfolio increases by 45,000 new hires.
- The portfolio of broadband and fixed clients increases by 9,000 new hires.
- Vodafone TV's customer base increases by 56,000 new hires: the highest quarterly growth in the last three years.
In terms of number of lines, the company has managed to increase the figure to 3.2 million, of which 1.8 million belong to mobile lines with unlimited data: more than half of active lines. The total number of mobile lines, therefore, remains at more than 13.57 million. There is nothing.
If we talk about the red carrier segment for businesses and SMEs, the company has seen revenue growth of 6.9% in the public administration sector and 5.7% in the small business sector. The businesses of IoT, IPVPN and Cloud & Hosting companies grew up to 35.8%, 18.3% and 63.2% quarterly compared to the quarter of the previous year. In the words of Vodafone, this growth has been driven by the implementation of 5G and the presentation of new services aimed at companies and administrations.
Business strategy as the main engine of recovery
This has been confirmed by the company itself in an official statement. The reasons referred to in the original note speak of the good work in the commercial strategy presented during 2019, a commercial strategy that has brought several mobile rates with unlimited data and the inclusion of 5G in most of the plans presented throughout of the year.
Vodafone also attributes the success of its strategy to the promotion of Lowi as a low cost and low end company and the catalog of series and cinema offered on Vodafone TV services: the largest in Spain, according to the company itself. Another reason that Vodafone attributes to this growth has to do with the degree of satisfaction with the services by customers.
Once again, the operator is established as the absolute leader with four positive points above the second operator in terms of NPS (Net Promoter Score). The degree of satisfaction applies to both business customers and private customers, according to data submitted by the company.
