The presentation of a new mid-range terminal, the VIVO Y89, has just been made official in China. It is a new device that follows the most current design trends such as a large screen, which exceeds six inches, with a top notch and practically no lower edges. An all screen that will try to find a place in the tight space of the mid-range.
A new mid-range with a large screen, VIVO Y89
We go in parts with this new VIVO Y89. Its screen is a 6.3-inch IPS panel with Full HD + resolution. This yields 440 pixels per inch, enough to appreciate the videos we play on it with good quality. On the back panel we find the dual camera and the fingerprint sensor in the center, just above the brand name.
As for the photographic section, we have a 16 megapixel main double camera with 2.0 focal aperture plus an additional 2 megapixel sensor with phase detection focus, 4K video recording and LED flash. The front camera has 16 megapixels and a focal aperture of 2.0, beauty mode with Artificial Intelligence technology and soft flash light.
Its interior houses an eight-core Snapdragon 626 processor with a clock speed of 2.2 GHz, accompanied by a 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, expandable with a microSD card. This processor also accompanies terminals such as the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro or Meizu M15.
Looking at the connectivity section, we have, of course, WiFi and Bluetooth, GPS, AGPS and GLONASS. Its battery has a capacity of 3,260 mAh and will come out of the box with Android 8.1 Oreo with a custom layer of the house brand FunTouch OS, version 4.0.
This terminal goes on sale today on Aliexpress, with shipping within a couple of days, and has a price of about 235 euros to change. In short, we can say that the strengths of this VIVO Y89 is its screen, processor and storage and, on the contrary, its weakest point may be the battery. Only 3,260 mAh seem scarce to us to be able to move a processor of up to 2.2 GHz and a screen of more than six inches. However, we will have to wait for the first performance tests to draw conclusions.
