We already anticipated it in the form of rumors a month ago, but now it is official: the Vivo X5 Max has just become the thinnest smartphone in the world. The Vivo X5 Max, developed by the Chinese company Vivo, incorporates a thickness of only 4.75 millimeters, and has just been officially presented in Asian territory. The availability of the Vivo X5 Max is only confirmed -for now- for the Asian market, and it is expected that the first units will begin to arrive in stores starting on December 22 at a price close to 500 dollars.
The Vivo X5 Max has been designed thinking not only about the reduced thickness, but also about the technical specifications. The X5 Max is presented with a screen AMOLED of 5.5 inches to reach a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, all compressed in a housing 153.90 í- 78 í- 4.75 mm in size.
The performance of this smartphone is powered by a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 with eight cores running at 1.7 GHz clock speed. The RAM capacity is 2 GigaBytes, which should translate into optimal performance when it comes to squeezing the full potential of this smartphone.
The internal storage space of the Vivo X5 Max is 16 GigaBytes. And, although we can believe that the reduced thickness of this terminal has prevented Vivo from including the option of increasing the memory through an external card, the truth is that the X5 Max has a slot for microSD cards of up to 128 GigaBytes of capacity.
The Vivo X5 Max also incorporates two cameras. The main camera comes with a sensor Sony (IMX214) that turns out to be 13 megapixels, while the secondary chamber has a considerably simpler sensor five megapixel. The battery apparently has a 2,000 mAh capacity, although there is no definitive confirmation on this yet. The operating system installed as standard is Android (in its version of Android 4.4.4 KitKat) complemented with Vivo's own interface that responds to the name of Funtouch OS 2.0.
To this day it is unknown if the Vivo X5 Max will hit European stores, although it is to be assumed that its availability will not go beyond the Asian market. Yet in the European market also we have smartphones that can boast having a thickness very contained: a good example of this is the Kazam Tornado 348, which with its thickness of 5.15 mm was made during last October in the thinnest smartphone in the world. The price of the Kazam Tornado 348 in Spanish stores is set at 250 euros.
On the other hand, videos are already circulating on the net in which you can see the appearance of the new Vivo X5 Max in first person:
