Powerful camera for good selfies, even at night
The front camera of the Live V5 has a sensor Sony IMX376 with a resolution of 20 megapixels, aperture f / 2.0 and LED flash. The phone therefore promises very good image quality for selfies, regardless of the lighting conditions.
The main chamber, meanwhile, has a more moderate performance, with resolution of 13 megapixels, LED flash and autofocus phase detection. You can record video in Full HD (1080p) quality.
Vivo V5 smartphone highlights
The Vivo V5 phone features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen, protected by 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass. The big surprise, considering other characteristics of the terminal and the price range in which it is located, is the resolution of the screen: Vivo has decided to maintain HD resolution (720p) instead of launching to Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels).
The company has given no explanation on this decision but it is likely that the goal is to offer a phone with more autonomy because the size and screen resolution are two of the factors that most influence the actual battery life. The phone incorporates a 3000 mAh battery.
Inside the smartphone we find an eight-core processor with 4 GB of RAM, as well as an internal storage capacity of 32 GB that can be expanded thanks to the external microSD card slot of up to 128 GB.
The operating system is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and uses the Funtouch OS 2.6 customization layer. It also incorporates the Smart Split 2.0 system to offer the possibility of working with a split screen and with two applications open simultaneously.
Another interesting function that is incorporated is the possibility of activating the vision protection filter, which reduces eye strain when spending a lot of time reading or using the screen.
Other design details
The Vivo V5 smartphone is designed in a metallic body, currently available in two colors: gray or gold. It weighs 154 grams and measures 153.8mm long x 75.5mm wide x 7.5mm thick.
On the front, below the screen, there is the start button, in which is the fingerprint reader. It is a reader that works at high speed and is capable of identifying the fingerprint in 0.2 seconds.
Availability and price
The Vivo V5 will go on sale at the end of November in countries such as China or India for a price equivalent to 245 euros, and in Spain we can get it through online stores for approximately that amount.
