A smartphone that is washed with soap to avoid dirt
On a daily basis, we use the smartphone in all kinds of places and circumstances, so the terminal becomes a source of dirt. The Japanese brand Kyocera wants to end this problem and has put on sale a waterproof smartphone that can be perfectly washed with soap.
The new model improves on a previous version that went on sale in December 2015 and that could be cleaned with hand soap. Now, the main improvement is the possibility of washing it also with liquid soap, without posing any risk to the components of the phone.
The washable Kyocera smartphone, known as "Rafre", will be released in Japan in March 2017 in three different colors: light blue, pale pink and bright white.
At the moment there is no confirmation on its launch in other countries, but it is likely that the model will remain only for sale in Japan. After all, the previous smartphone with similar characteristics was not exported to other countries…
In the official video of the product, we can see "" with a strange mixture of surprise and fear "" that the terminal washes perfectly with soap and water, even foaming.
The touch screen also resists washing
One of the most interesting details is that the touch screen remains operational even during washing. This is a very important advance since many screens take time to react to the movement of the fingers if they have moisture or a drop of water on them.
The terminal resists washing with hot water and can be operated without touching the screen, with a very useful gesture system if we use gloves or have stained hands.
In fact, the phone comes standard with a special kitchen application, which allows you to use the phone without problem and consult recipes, set timers and even answer calls without touching the screen.
Other phone features
The Kyocera rafre smartphone has a 3000 mAh battery and a high-resolution camera. The phone can capture photos even in poor lighting conditions, and uses a phase detection autofocus system.
The device measures 71mm x 142mm x 10.4mm, weighs about 158 grams, and comes standard with Android 7 Nougat. It has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.
The main camera is 13 megapixels, while the secondary (front) is 5 megapixels.
At the moment there are no details on the sale price in the market, and some of the announced technical specifications could vary in the final product. It has been confirmed that the phone will go on sale in March in Japan.
