Very recently, Samsung brought the night mode of its cameras to two terminals that were presented in 2018, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy Note 9. In this way, the owners of these two terminals could see how the images taken at night or in low-light conditions were enhanced by better image processing. What happen? That sometimes updates and news may present failures and this has happened on this occasion. Some users of both terminals have reported to the developer forum XDA Developers that, when taking a photo with this mode, not only is it not saved, but the application suffers a sudden closure. Even this fault appears when the user does not fully hold the mobile firmly when taking the photo,The 'camera error' warning appears (it also occurs when people and animals in motion are focused).
Night mode fails on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Note 9
Of course, not all users of the two phones have reported this failure nor does it affect all those who do suffer from it in the same way. There are some users who report that in night mode the camera does not take photos in 90% of attempts, this percentage being significantly lower in other users. Waiting for Samsung to release an official update to its system to fix this annoying problem, the GSMArena page has just published a temporary solution. In order for us to take photos in night mode with these phones we have to put the image in an aspect ratio of 16: 9 instead of the default 4: 3 system. This solution, however, has some drawbacks, such as the loss of resolution in widescreen (16: 9) compared to square (4: 3). The first have resolution 9,1 megapixels compared to the second that have up to 12 megapixels.
Now we just have to wait for Samsung to take action on the matter and launch an update that will correct this problem of night mode. So far, Samsung has not declared anything in this regard, leaving a question mark why it has begun to fail.
