The mute button, together with Touch ID, is one of the elements most susceptible to failure in the smartphones of the iPhone range of the American manufacturer Apple. It is a button that allows us to activate or deactivate the silence mode on our mobile, a function that is essential at the moment when we need to silence all notifications without having to unlock the mobile screen. But, at the moment in which this button is damaged, we can find the problem that our mobile is practically useless in terms of controlling the volume of notifications.
Therefore, this time we are going to explain a trick to continue using an iPhone with a broken mute button (at least until we can repair it). Through this trick we can silence the mobile with two touches on the screen, without having to navigate through the terminal settings each time we want to activate or deactivate the silence.
Trick to continue using an iPhone with the broken mute button
- First we must access the Settings application of our iPhone.
- Once inside, we enter the " General " section.
- Then click on the " Accessibility " section.
- Within this section we must search and click on an option with the name " AssistiveTouch ".
- By clicking on this option we will access a configuration window in which the first thing we have to do is click on the white button that appears next to the name " AssistiveTouch ". In this way we will activate this option, and as soon as we click on the white button we will see that on the right side of the screen a gray rectangle will appear with a white circle inside.
- If we click once on this icon we will see that a small pop-up window with different options will be displayed. If we also click on the option “ Dispos. ”(That is,“ Device ”), another pop-up window will appear in which the option to silence the mobile will appear (in addition to other options such as raising or lowering the volume, for example).
- This icon will always be present on our screen when we are using the mobile, and we can place it on either side of the screen simply by sliding it to the most comfortable place for us. Every time we want to silence the mobile, all we have to do is click on the gray rectangle and select the " Silence " option.
Although it is a temporary solution, this trick is ideal for any iPhone with problems in the physical buttons. In addition to the option to silence the mobile, this pop-up menu also allows us to perform other actions such as capturing the screen, accessing multitasking or returning to the Start menu.
