The Taiwanese company continues to fight to conquer the gap that was displaced. They were born at the same time as Android and they managed to position themselves as one of the main alternatives to the Internet, but little by little they became smaller than their competitors. Despite this, they continue to release top-end phones. And with this premise came the turn of the HTC 10, the company's new smartphone with which they want to boost their damaged sales. The HTC 10 is placed within the high range and is a successor to the HTC One M (7,8 and 9). We tell you its main characteristics.
Simple and elegant design
Manufactured in a unibody body of two materials, metal and aluminum, the HTC 10 has a smooth line with beveled edges in which a characteristic element of the HTC One has disappeared, the front grille for the BoomSound speakers. It includes a sensor for reading fingerprints like the one that has been common in the latest smartphones that have come out, and a USB type C port . From HTC they say that it is a very resistant mobile, and they have subjected it to dozens of hours from extreme temperature tests, drops and scratches. The dimensions are 145.9 x 71.9 x 9.0 millimeters and a weight of 161 grams.
Processor, battery and display
Inside the shell of the HTC 10 we find a Qualcomm SnapDragon 820 chip accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and an internal memory of 32 or 64 GB. In addition to this internal memory, it allows expansion through MicroSD of up to 2 TB. The battery does not leave indifferent either, with a power of 3000mAh and with the possibility, thanks to the SnapDragon 820, of having access to the QuickCharge 3.0 fast charge that allows in just half an hour to reach 50% of the total charge of the phone. The screen reaches 5.2 inches with a density of 565 dpi (Quad HD resolution). It is still an IPS in its LDC5 format with a Gorilla Glass protection system on its front.
Image and sound
It seems that it is fashionable to add improvements to photographic equipment. If a few days ago Huawei gave the bombshell with the new Leica lenses integrated into its P9, in the case of the HTC 10 the improvements in this regard have been really significant. We find a double optical stabilizer, one per camera, and an aperture f / 1.8. The main camera has 12 megapixels, assistance laser focus and an LED flash dual tone. As for the video format, we can record videos at 4K. In addition to this, for those who need to work with photographic editing, the mobile provides us with the possibility of working in RAW format. As far as sound is concerned, this is still HTC's strong point, in this model it maintains the BoomSound sound, certified as Hi-Res Audio with 24 bits and the headphones have an amplifier within the equipment itself.
The HTC 10 maintains Sense in its version 7 developed on Android 6 Marshmallow and will go on sale in black, silver and gold in early May. The price for the 64 GB version will be 800 euros.
