A few months ago rumors began to appear about a new version of the Samsung Galaxy S8 (yes, when the Galaxy S9 had already been presented). According to the different leaks, this model would be a lite version of the previous Samsung flagship, which would come with a practically identical design, but with more shortened specifications. But it seems that Samsung will not call it Galaxy S8 Lite, but Galaxy S Light Luxury. This device could be presented today, but there is already a lot of information leaked and we tell you everything we know about it.

Design; identical to the Galaxy S8, but with a new color

We begin by talking about design, although there is very, very little news here. The new Light Luxury edition will arrive with a design practically identical to the Galaxy S8. Glass back with a slight curvature on the edges, a main camera with LED flash and fingerprint reader and Samsung logo in the center. The front has not been seen in any leak, but we assume that it will incorporate a style very similar to that of the Galaxy S8. We would see the difference in the color. This new device could arrive in a kind of intense red with a glossy finish, combined with aluminum frames that will have the same tonality. It could also arrive in a black color based on leaked images.

Again, the leaks have not let us see it, but most likely it includes a USB C connection, a headphone jack and a main speaker in the lower area.

Widescreen and 16 megapixel camera

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy S Light Luxury will incorporate a 5.8-inch panel with Full HD + resolution (2240 ​​x 1080 pixels). It will include a widescreen, with a format of 18.5: 9. Inside we could find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, which is eight-core. This would come with 4 GB of RAM and a version of 64 GB of internal storage.

Regarding the cameras, this new device will have a 16 megapixel main lens. We do not know if it is the same as that of the Samsung Galaxy S8, and if it will incorporate the blur functions so popular today in mobile phones. On the other hand, the front camera is 8 megapixels. We should also highlight that it will have a 3,000 mAh battery and Android 8.0 Oreo. As you might expect, it will come with Samsung's own customization layer.

Presentation date, availability and prices

According to SamMobile, Samsung has only distributed 100 invitations to the Chinese press for the presentation of this device. It will be released today. Most likely it is only available for China. There is no indication that Samsung wants to launch this device to different markets. About the price, it is also a mystery, but obviously, it will be cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S8. After all, this new Galaxy S Light Luxury is a good alternative for those who want an inexpensive device with a high-end design.
