Huawei would not unveil its new flagship at Mobile World Congress this year. The company would announce it at a private event that would take place on March 27 in Paris. That is, weeks after the mobility fair. From what we know so far thanks to rumors, the company would have prepared three new devices with different characteristics, especially in size, RAM and storage.
On the one hand we would have a standard version baptized as Huawei P20, to which would be added a Plus model and another Lite. We already have a lot of data from the two main phones. Both the P20 and the P20 Pus would arrive with an infinite panel, HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor and 4 or 6 GB of RAM. They would also have the latest version of Android, 8.1 along with the EMUI 8.1 customization layer. One of its great characteristics would be located in the photographic section. Both teams would offer a triple 40-megapixel main camera. It promises to be, therefore, one of the most advanced of the moment. Design and display
In recent weeks, numerous leaked images of the Huawei P20 have appeared, which allow us to get a slight idea of how it would look. The device would break the aesthetics of the current Huawei P10, with a front in which the panel would be the complete protagonistand there would be no presence of the physical home button. We have seen this trend in other high-end mobiles, such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 +. The P20 would be a device with almost no frame presence, following the current fashion. But, the main novelties we would find in the back. Here we would see a triple camera located in a vertical position and a fingerprint reader just below. The design is very reminiscent of Apple's iPhone X, with a very clean, minimalist back, apparently built of glass. Hopefully the firm uses a system similar to that of other devices, with materials resistant to shocks and falls.
Both the panel of the Huawei P20 and the Huawei P20 Plus would have an aspect ratio of 18: 9. There are also rumors that it could surpass this format and arrive with 19: 9. In any case, it is better to take this information with some caution. From what is known, the P20 would land with a 5.7-inch screen with 2,160 x 1,080 resolution. That of the P20 Plus would be somewhat larger, 6.1 inches, and would also use OLED technology.
Processor and memory
Both the Huawei P20 and the Huawei P20 Plus would be powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor. It is the same SoC that is available in the Huawei Mate 10 that we met just a few months ago. This would arrive accompanied by 4 GB and 64 GB of space (P20) and 6 GB and 128 GB of storage (P20 Plus). We would be, in this way, before two really powerful and fluid devices, capable of working with all kinds of applications and processes.
Photographic camera
After its agreement with Leica, Huawei has made a great leap in terms of photography. He already demonstrated it with the Huawei P10 or Mate 10 and now he wants to do the same with his new flagship. In fact, the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus would equip a triple main camera that would be a revolution in the sector. It would have a resolution of 40 megapixels and a zoom of up to 5x. Of course, we also expect it with dual LED flash and other additional features, such as image stabilization and different modes to beautify the shots. What is not very clear yet is how this new triple camera system would work, which so far is not available in any other mobile on the market.
On the front it is said that there could be room for a 13 and 2 megapixel dual sensor. Therefore, it would be possible to enjoy the famous bokeh effect for selfies.
Operating system and battery
The new Huawei P20 and P20 Plus would be placed on the market with the current version of Android. We refer to Android 8.1 together with the EMUI 8.1 customization layer. On the battery, we know that the vitaminized version would equip a larger one, with 4,000 mAh of autonomy. The Huawei P20 would have a 3,320 mAh. It is not very clear even if they would have fast charging. Let's hope so. When it comes to connections, the two devices would come with a wide array of options: WiFi, LTE, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 or microUSB v2.0. They would also boast of a fingerprint reader, as we said earlier located at the rear.
There is just over a month to find out and see if all the rumors collected so far are correct. The Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Plus and the smallest of the range, P20 Lite, would be announced on March 27 in Paris. We will inform you as soon as we have more news.
