One of the great phones of 2017 has been the LG G6. The terminal surprised by its design and infinite screen with hardly the presence of frames. For this year, LG has reserved a new model of which many of its possible characteristics are beginning to be known. The terminal has been registered on the company's website in the last hours as LG G7. Unlike its predecessor, this new model would not be unveiled at the next Mobile World Congress. Apparently, its presentation would be in mid-March with the aim of achieving greater expectations.
P-OLED infinity display
The LG G7 would once again have an avant-garde design, very faithful to the style of the previous generation. Its screen would maintain an 18: 9 aspect ratio and OLED technology, the same that is present in the LG V30. The company would again guarantee a minimal presence of frames to make the panel the main protagonist. Likewise, thanks to OLED technology, higher brightness levels and more vivid colors would be achieved, something that is very harmful when viewing multimedia content.
What is not entirely clear yet is the size of the LG G7 screen. The LG G6 landed with a 5.7-inch QuadHD + resolution of 2,880 x 1440 pixels. For its part, the LG V30 has a 6-inch with the same resolution. The new equipment may go up to the size of the LG V30. However, this data will be confirmed at the time it becomes official. What seems obvious is that the company would not forget to include resistance to water and dust thanks to the IP68 certification. Plus an iris scanner.
More RAM and fast charging
For its new phone, LG could bet on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, one of the most powerful chips for this 2018. However, some sources agree that finally it would not have time to include it and would introduce the previous SoC. We refer to the Snapdragon 835. It would, therefore, be slightly less powerful than expected and could not rival equally well with other high-end ranges on the market, which would arrive with more current processors. In any case, the RAM memory would grow to 6 GB, a figure that seems to become the current standard for higher-end computers.
Another of the most current leaks ensure that the LG G7 would also have wireless charging and quick Quick Charge 4.0. This means that we could load the terminal almost completely in a very short time. What there is no data at the moment is the capacity of the battery. Both the LG G6 and the LG V30 came with a 3,300 mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charge. Hopefully the South Korean is encouraged and surprised this time with a higher amperage.
Four dual cameras
One of the latest trends in telephony is to include a double camera on the front. We have seen it recently in the Samsung Galaxy A8 2018, which has a dual sensor for 16 and 8 megapixels selfies. According to the latest leaks, everything indicates that LG would also use this same technique in its next flagship. The LG G7 would equip four cameras (two on the back and two on the front). With this, the company would seek to bring the portrait modes with blur and bokeh to selfies.
At the moment, it is unknown what resolutions the cameras would have. Reviewing the photographic section of the LG G6 a bit, the device offers a double main camera of 13 megapixels with aperture f / 1.8 and wide angle with f / 2.4. The camera for selfies has a resolution of only 5 megapixels with aperture f / 2.2. The same happens in the LG V30, although in this case the main sensor is somewhat better, 16 megapixels (F1.6 / 71 °) and 13 megapixels (F1.9 / 120 °). We think that the LG G7 would already have a somewhat more worked lens and we hope that the company surprises in this section, in which it is lagging well below its rivals.
As for other details and features, the LG G7 would once again have a fingerprint reader. It would be located at the back, since, as we say, the front would be all screen with very small frames. On the other hand, the connections would be practically the same as those of its predecessor. The LG G7 would also include Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C, NFC, WiFi, or LTE. As for the internal storage capacity, there are no leaks in this regard either. The LG G6 offers 32 GB (expandable via microSD-type cards). The LG G7 may surprise with 64GB or 128GB of space like the LG V30. This is something that we will also clear up on the day of its official presentation.
The LG G7 will not be at the MWC
The LG G7 would not be announced this year at the Mobile World Congress 2018. Unlike its predecessor, the company would unveil it at an exclusive event in which it would have full prominence . This coming-out would take place in mid-March, that is, a few days after the mobility fair. At the moment, the place of presentation and other information, such as price or departure date, is unknown. Still, we don't think the company will take long to release it once it is released. It could hit the market in late March or April.
