- And what do we know about the Pocophone F2 Pro?
Last summer, the Chinese brand Xiaomi set its sights on video game fans and launched a device that could meet their high demands. In this way a new sub-brand called Pocophone (or, for short, Poco) was born, a phone equipped with the most powerful to provide power, performance and good autonomy to all those who like to try the most demanding video games. And, of course, for all those who wanted a powerful mobile without having to spend a lot of money, something usual in Xiaomi.
In this direction, the Pocophone implemented a new function specifically aimed at optimizing the device in relation to games called Game Turbo, thanks to which the mobile adjusted the appropriate power to the game that was running. A year later, how could it be otherwise, its sequel, the Pocophone F2, will be presented, which will be accompanied by a vitaminized version, the Pocophone F2 Pro. In this sense, there are certain filters that bet because the recent one known as Redmi K20 Pro will be, in Europe, the Pocophone F2 Pro and the Redmi K20, the Pocophone F2, to dry. This, however, is not yet confirmed and would involve a strange dance of terminals: from the Pocophone F1 we would go to two: the Pocophone F2, which would have a lower processor than its predecessor, and the Pocophone F2 Pro,that would keep the Pocophone F1 processor but with general improvements.
On this occasion, we are going to stop to tell you what is all that is known about the new Pocophone F2 and Pocophone F2 Pro to get you started before their next launch.
Pocophone F2 design
Something that draws the attention of the Pocophone F1 is its huge notch, which houses the front camera, flash and an advanced facial recognition system. A design that, let's be honest, has become a bit outdated. Now what commands is the infinite screen with a tiny notch (or without it, as in the Redmi K20) and so it will be in the Pocophone F2, which will release a drop-shaped notch, according to the images that have been filtered. In addition, we would still not see glass in its construction, keeping plastic as the primary construction material.
However, there are other certain rumors that bet on the selfie camera inserted inside the terminal and the screen without notches of any kind, a design that was inaugurated, within the Xiaomi ecosystem, with its new Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. As for the screen, it will maintain the Full HD + resolution but, as its surface area is larger, the pixel density per screen will decrease a bit, but nothing that is striking or attracts attention.
Lower processor than the previous model
As we told you before, if the rumors were confirmed, Xiaomi would have decided to split its new Pocophone into 2, lowering the processor a notch in relation to the Poco F1. Thus, the Pocophone F2 would hit stores with a Snapdragon 730. It is an 8-core processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.2 GHz accompanied by an Adreno 618 GPU. However, others say that we would continue to have the Snapdragon 855 in this Pocophone F2, for now, the most evolved equipment of Qualcomm, with a clock speed of 2.8 GHz.
As for the RAM and ROM memories, we would start the configuration in the usual 6 GB and 64 GB. On this occasion it seems that we could see a model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of ROM, thus having the desired evolution.
In this model we will witness the evolution of the Game Turbo mode, whose update is already available and is also compatible with the previous model of this mobile. As news, we will tell you that you can take a screenshot with the usual three-finger gesture and a layer of eye protection is added to protect you in game sessions that last longer than necessary.
Triple sensor and pop-up camera
It is striking that Xiaomi has wanted to spread its new pop-up front camera technology to more terminals, once it has been included in the Redmi K20. It would be a 20 megapixel camera with f / 2.2 focal aperture and Full HD recording at 30fps. However, other sources collect the information that it would be a camera, also pop-up, but with 32 megapixels, just like the one found in the Vivo V15 Pro.
And the front cameras? Well, it would be a very important evolution if in the end it was confirmed that the new Pocophone F2 was, finally, the Redmi K20. We have a team of three sensors with a configuration such that:
- 48 megapixel main sensor with f / 1.8 aperture and phase detection focus
- 13 megapixel wide-angle sensor and f / 2.4 focal aperture
- Telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, 8 megapixels and focal aperture f / 2.4
Autonomy and connectivity without noticeable changes
If something works, why change it? And Xiaomi has been implanting a 4,000 mAh battery for some time in a wide variety of terminals that grants a range of a couple of days with moderate use and a day or a day and a half with intensive use. There are rumors that we could see an improvement in the battery, reaching 5,000 mAh, but we see it quite unlikely. We cannot forget about fast charging, which will reach 18 W. We will also have NFC connectivity for mobile payments, USB Type C, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual 4G WiFi and GPS.
And what do we know about the Pocophone F2 Pro?
Rumors suggest that the Pocophone F2 Pro would be, basically, the same terminal as the recently announced Redmi K20 Pro. The main difference between the two is the Super AMOLED panel, the Snapdragon 855 processor, accompanied by the Adreno 640 GPU and GPS with dual band, plus a top 27W fast charge.
