Last May, Huawei launched the Huawei P30 Pro New Edition, a somewhat vitaminized version of the Huawei P30 Pro launched last year. Despite the fact that the phone inherits much of the specification sheet from its counterpart, the truth is that there are some more or less tangible differences. These differences also have an impact on the price. In fact, the model released in 2020 is cheaper than the original Huawei P30 Pro. This time we will analyze all the differences between the Huawei P30 Pro vs Huawei P30 Pro New Edition to shed some light on these two terminals of the Chinese company.
Same design with different colors
So is. The initial launch of the Huawei P30 Pro was presided over by no less than five versions with five different colors: Pearl White, Black, Breathing Crystal, Aurora and Amber Sunrise. Later, the company introduced two new colors with a different finish in matte glass and gloss glass: Jade Blue, Purple Pink.
If we talk about the P30 Pro New Edition, the terminal is presented in three only versions: Aurora, Silver Frost and Black. The differences between the finishes of the original model and the model launched in 2020 in the three matching colors are practically non-existent.
The amount of memory is the main technical difference
The most substantial difference between the Huawei P30 Pro New Edition vs Huawei P30 Pro is found in the amount of available memory. The original model was released in three storage versions of 128, 256 and 512 GB, all with 8 GB of RAM as a base.
In contrast, the Huawei P30 Pro New Edition uses a single version with 256 GB of internal storage and 8 GB of RAM. Both keep Huawei's NM Card slot. They also maintain the UFS 2.1 memory technology and the processor model, the Kirin 980.
Software: EMUI 10 vs EMUI 10.1
The reason for the Huawei P30 Pro New Edition comes precisely from the software. To keep Google services intact, the company has been forced to install the same components on its flagship. Thanks to this, the phone has Android 10 under Google applications.
Huawei has also updated the phone's software to the latest available version of EMUI, namely EMUI 10.1. Interestingly, the Huawei P30 Pro was updated to this version days before the P30 Pro New Edition was presented. Despite the fact that it initially had EMUI 10, both phones share a version today.
The price as a differential point
It is time to talk about the most important aspect of all, the price. Originally, the price of these two terminals was 850 euros in the base version of the P30 Pro and 800 euros in the only version of the P30 Pro New Edition. As of today, the company has discontinued the first model in its official store, although we can find it on Amazon for about 600 euros in the version with 128 GB of internal storage.
As for the P30 Pro New Edition, the phone is available in the Huawei store for around 700 euros. At Amazon we can find it somewhat cheaper, for approximately 625 euros. If we opt for the manufacturer's store, the current offer includes a gift Huawei Watch GT worth 180 euros in the market.
