Huawei p30 lite new edition vs p30 lite: all the differences
Table of contents:

- Very little difference in price
- Data sheet
At the beginning of the year, Huawei officially launched the Huawei P30 Lite New Edition, a somewhat renewed version of the original P30 Lite that improves some of the technical characteristics of its counterpart. And is that despite the fact that the two terminals share design and much of the technical sheet, the differences inside the P30 Lite New Edition place it a step above the model initially presented in 2019. To shed some light around We have made a comparison to the couple to analyze all the differences between the Huawei P30 Lite New Edition vs P30 Lite.
More RAM and storage
The new generation has introduced significant improvements in the memory configuration of the Huawei P30 Lite. On the one hand, the amount of RAM memory is expanded to 6 GB compared to 4 GB of the original model. This improvement also carries over to the amount of internal memory: now it has 256 GB instead of the 128 GB of the P30 Lite.
Unfortunately, the phone still maintains eMMC 5.1 technology, a type of memory with slower read and write speeds than those provided by UFS memories. The Kirin 710 processor and NFC connectivity are also maintained.
Selfie camera improves slightly
The second hardware novelty is found in the front camera. While the original model uses a 24-megapixel sensor with f / 2.0 focal aperture, the Huawei P30 Lite New Edition opts for a 32-megapixel camera with the same focal aperture as the front camera of its predecessor.
In the absence of confirmation from the company, we find the same sensor as the P30 and the P30 Pro. The improvements over the original sensor start precisely from the resolution, which should influence the final quality of the photos in terms of definition.
Software is also affected
Or at least initially. The Huawei P30 Lite New Edition was released with the version of EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie. By cons, the original P30 Lite was released with EMIU version 9.0. Today both terminals already have EMUI 10.
Unfortunately, Huawei has no plans to update either terminal to EMUI 10.1, the latest stable version of the manufacturer's layer. Despite this, it is not ruled out that a future update will be announced for these two phones, although at the moment there is no official confirmation. The good news is that both phones have Google services. This is the reason why the company has decided to keep the hardware of the model released last year.
Very little difference in price
The price of the two terminals at the time of their departure was 350 euros for the only two versions with 6 and 256 GB of the P30 Lite New Edition and 4 and 128 GB of the original P30 Lite. Currently we can get the model launched in 2020 for 250 euros in the official Huawei store.
If we opt for the P30 Lite of 2019, we will have to resort to third-party stores, either Amazon or eBay. Unfortunately, Huawei has discontinued this model to give greater prominence to the P30 Lite New Edition. The market price of the latter is around 210 euros, although it is very likely that it is sold out in most stores in which it is currently sold.
