In just a few days Samsung will announce the Samsung Galaxy S9. The terminal will be shown to the public on February 25 in Barcelona along with a vitamin version, the Samsung Galaxy S9 +. This terminal would have a larger panel and some improved features. In the last hours, new images of the device have been leaked, which would reveal all the details at an aesthetic level.
There are no secrets. The new leaks about the Galaxy S9 show us what the new high-end of the South Korean firm would look like. The infinity display and its slim, flat design are two of the most important elements that would stand out at first glance. But are not the only ones. If you pay attention to the rear, the fingerprint reader would have changed location. Also, a new purple color would be introduced, which would give another approach to the traditional rose gold that we usually see in the vast majority of high-end phones on the current market.
A more modern and current design
The Samsung Galaxy S8 landed with a fingerprint reader on its rear. If you remember, it included it right next to the rear camera, on the right side. The Asian firm could not have added this system inside the touch panel, but would have moved it to improve comfort. As reflected in the leaked images, the new Galaxy S9 would be attached just below the main camera, which also would have a double sensor and would be positioned vertically. In this way, the user would have more at hand the reader and would not have to be juggling to find it. Now, we will have to see how Samsung would have managed so that we do not end up putting the footprint just above the objective.
Samsung's new flagship follows the aesthetics of its predecessor, but the company has given it a more visual approach. It is an increasingly evolved and advanced phone at the design level. What would stand out the most from the front is the infinity screen and the double curvature. It looks slimmer, again without (almost) the presence of rounded frames and edges for easy grip. It should also be noted the presence of a new purple color, which may become one of the most desired shades this year.
Main features
The infinite screen of the Samsung Galaxy S9 would have a size of 5.8 inches and a resolution of 1,440 x 2,960 pixels. That of the Galaxy S9 Plus would go up to 6.2 inches with the same resolution. The two models would have an eight-core Exynos 9810 processor, accompanied by 4 GB of RAM for the standard version and 6 GB for the Plus version. On the other hand, they would arrive with 64 GB of expandable internal storage, as well as a 3,000 and 3,500 mAh battery, respectively.
Another of the most remarkable aspects would be the photographic one. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus would have a dual camera that would combine two 12 megapixel sensors with optical image stabilization and dual LED Flash. Furthermore, they would employ a combination of laser and dual-pixel autofocus to focus as quickly as possible. At the front we would find an 8 megapixel camera with F / 1.7 aperture, which, unlike most cameras, would have its own autofocus.
The devices would also arrive with IP68 protection, iris scanner, AKG sound and Android 8, along with the Samsung Experience 9.0 customization layer.
Possible availability
Samsung would begin accepting orders for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus as of its launch on February 25, 2018. The new models would be delivered as of March 8 of this year. Customers are expected to have a choice between three different colors in Europe. In addition to the famous "Midnight Black" and "Coral Blue", that is, black and blue, the new color "Lila Purple" would be introduced for the first time. Regarding prices, we can say little. However, there are indications that the new phablets could cost around 100 euros more than before.
