Dozens of users have reported in the last hours having received an SMS from MediaMarkt notifying of an alleged draw for an iPhone 11 Pro in which we have been winners of the first prize. As usual, the content of the message is accompanied by a link to a page where we will have to provide the telephone number and different contact information to "validate" the award and receive the product as soon as possible.

Of course, MediaMarkt has already confirmed that this is a fraud attempt. Apparently, it is a case of phishing . This method is known in the world of computer security for impersonating a website or institution.
In this case, the extracted data is most likely used to subscribe to a premium SMS service or to extract bank details (credit cards, bank account numbers…)
How to block SMS from MediaMarkt
Blocking SMS from a sender without a number is really easy. On Android phones (Samsung, Huawei, LG, Xiaomi) we will have to access the content of the message and then click on the three points in the upper right corner that are shown on the screen. Later we will click on Details or Information and finally on Block and mark as spam.
The way to proceed on iPhone is practically identical. In this case, we will have to click on the sender's name with the text message open to discover the option that allows us to block the sender's messages, as we can see in the screenshot below.
What can I do if I have entered my data on the web?
Depending on the type of information that we have entered on the web, we will have to follow a series of steps depending on the potential danger.
