Sony xperia ace, 5-inch mid-range with angular selfie camera

Few manufacturers decide to launch compact mobile phones on the market, with screens of about 5 inches, good features and at a cheaper price than the current high-end ones. Samsung, Google or Xiaomi are one of those few. Japan's Sony also makes the list with its Xperia Compact. They have launched a new 5-inch terminal called Xperia ACE. These are all its benefits.

The new Xperia ACE has a compact body, at 140 x 67 x 9.3mm. It is somewhat thicker than usual, since it has a fingerprint reader on the side. Something strange, because the front does not have minimal frames, and on the chin it could have perfectly entered the fingerprint scanner. Or, a keypad. Still, the company has decided that that slot is for a main speaker and its logo. In the upper area we also find a speaker that allows stereo audio to be carried with that of the lower part. In addition, there is also a selfie camera and the respective sensors.

The back is flat, with a design very similar to other devices of the company. We only have one camera in the upper area, accompanied by an LED flash and different logos. As I mentioned, the fingerprint scanner is on the right side, and it also acts as a power-on and terminal lock. On the other hand, the volume button is also in the right area. This Xperia ACE has a headphone jack and a USB Type-C.

Mid-range specs and camera with optical stabilization

This device has a 5-inch panel. It is a compact screen that does not sacrifice in resolution: Full HD +, with a format of 18: 9. Inside we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, accompanied by enough 4 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 64 GB of internal storage that are expandable via micro SD. Its battery is 2,700 mAh and it has fast charging.

In the photographic section, we find a 12 megapixel main camera. This one has an f / 1.8 lens. In addition, it includes optical and electronic stabilization, so it should improve the focus and stabilization of images and videos with sharper results. In the case of the camera for selfies, it is 8 megapixels with a wide angle of 120 degrees for group photos.

Price and availability

The Sony Xperia ACE has been presented in Japan and will go on sale soon. We still do not know its price. Neither is the availability in other markets.
