The Japanese company Sony is currently working on a new interface for its mobile terminals. This interface is called Evolution, and from what has been explained from the company itself, this is an intelligent interface that adapts to each user. With this new interface, certain options and certain menus are hidden until the system detects that the user already has enough knowledge to access these sections.
The new Evolution interface of Sony will be primarily directed toward people who are not used to navigate the operating system Android. The system for unlocking the options and the different sections of the mobile works just like the achievements of a video game; As the user progresses through certain actions, the interface unlocks new functions. In fact, as soon as the mobile is turned on for the first time, the user will find a very basic home screen made up of a single panel with a clock at the top of the screen, with four shortcuts and a lock that prevents modifying none of these aspects.
Among some of these achievements would be something as simple as opening an application five times on the mobile. By doing this task, the user would gain access to the complete list of applications installed on the terminal. As shown in the demonstration video of this interface, the achievement is notified by a pop-up message very similar to the one we can find on video game consoles.
The customization options of this interface also allow us to activate or deactivate the achievement system and choose the level of knowledge of the user who will handle the mobile. These two options are essential for, for example, leaving the phone in the hands of an elderly person who needs some help to move between the applications. In addition, in this way we can prevent that person from ending up deconfiguring the mobile while learning to use it.
At the moment, the Evolution interface is not yet fully developed, so we will have to wait some additional time to start receiving it on our phones. We do not know if this interface will be included in all Sony smartphones or if, on the other hand, it will be reserved for mid-range mobiles intended for the elderly and people who are introduced to the Android operating system for the first time. Given that this interface offers configuration options adaptable to each type of user, we would not be surprised if we will end up receiving it on all mobile phones in the Xperia range.
