The delay in the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Fold or the uncertain future of the Huawei Mate X, would not have taken away Sony's desire to prepare its own folding mobile. The company is working on the Xperia F, a device that is in no hurry to hit the market and could land in 2020. At the moment, data on this new folding phone are rather scarce. We know that it would come with an OLED screen, HD resolution and 5G technology.
The truth is that Sony should be cautious and leave everything very well tied before the arrival of this new team. And it is that the Japanese firm is not going through its best moment. During 2018 it lost 800 million dollars , lagging far behind rivals such as Samsung or Apple. In addition, last April it announced its withdrawal from the Middle East, South and Central America because of these poor economic results. As if this were not enough, in April it was also revealed that the company would cut its workforce dedicated to the manufacture of mobile phones by half.

The new Sony Xperia F is expected to use Samsung's flexible OLED panel with an aspect ratio of 21: 9, like that of the current Sony Xperia 1. We are not sure if it would retain the Ultra HD resolution of the Xperia 1, but rumors argue that the device could come with support for 5G connectivity. However, it is not certain that the folding phone will end up becoming its first 5G device, since the Xperia AG-1, whose prototype was shown at the last Mobile World Congress, could take this honor.
In summary, we have no choice but to wait for long months to see what the new folding phone of the Japanese firm looks like. In any case, we will inform you of any rumors and all the details that arise around this new terminal. Of course, we do not think that it will be the first to reach the market. Samsung is finalizing the details to launch its own, the Galaxy Fold. Its landing was scheduled for April 26, then June, although the latest rumors maintain that it could last a little longer, but we do not believe that beyond this year.
