The presentation of the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua seems to have been only a sample of what the Japanese company Sony has prepared for next year 2015. As has been released from the main manufacturers Sony, the company may be working on a new batch of mobile midrange technical specifications incorporated between both the resistance to water as the resistance to dust. This would mean that mobile phones such as the Sony Xperia SP or Sony Xperia T would hit the market in 2015.in versions with a new design and technical specifications, among which we would find the IP58 certificate or even IP68 (that is, resistance to water and dust).
Although this information has not been officially confirmed by Sony, the fact that users increasingly demand water resistance in smartphones is no secret. Sony's decision to incorporate or not this feature in its next mid-range mobiles will probably depend largely on the number of sales obtained with the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua, which after all is still a smartphone you are looking for. quantify the interest of users for water resistance in mid-range mobiles.
If we take a look at the mobiles that today incorporate water resistance among their technical specifications, we will see that the predominant trend in the market is to include this feature only in high-end mobiles. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is a good example of this, since being a high-end mobile it incorporates the IP67 certification that makes it resistant to both water and dust. And if we take a look at the Japanese company Sony itself, the clearest example we have is the Sony Xperia Z2, another high-end mobile that has the IP58 certification.
On the other hand, we must remember that the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua is a version resistant to water and dust made from the Sony Xperia M2, a mobile officially presented at the beginning of this year 2014. In fact, the only difference between the two phones resides in the aforementioned water resistance and in the version of the operating system (Android 4.4.2 KitKat in the case of the M2 Aqua, while the M2 came standard with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean -although recently updated to Android 4.4 KitKat -). The rest of the technical specifications remain intact: 4.8-inch screenwith 960 x 540 pixel resolution, processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 of four cores running at 1.2 GHz, 1 gigabyte memory RAM, 8 gigabytes of internal storage (expandable via microSD up to 32 gigabytes), main chamber eight megapixels and battery 2300 mAh capacity. For now, when it comes to availability and price of the M2 Aqua, we only know that it will go on sale during the fall.
