A month ago we knew it as Sony Ericsson XPERIA Hallon. But that was not his real name. Now we know that that touch mobile equipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread will hit the market as Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo. This new device, which will share shelves with the other two great proposals of the Swedish-Japanese manufacturer for this first half of the year (the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play and Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc), has once again claimed the attention of the sector with a new filtered image, which accompanies its definitive name.
In the capture, we verify that the company does not complicate life and repeats the design formula that we know from the rest of the devices in the XPERIA family. A bar-type format with a large screen and three physical buttons on the front are enough and more than enough to complete the appearance of this smartphone, which at the moment has no release date, although no one doubts that it will be present on February 14 in the Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona.
In performance, not much is known about this Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo. A handful of specifications is the only thing that has been able to be certified with the help of the grateful leaks that accompany this type of news. The Russian site Mobile Review is the one that has revealed some of the pearls of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo, such as the screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels of its screen of unknown size.
However, judging by that resolution, we could bet on a diagonal of between four and 4.3 inches. Remember that it is the same concentration of pixels as the two models that will accompany the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo on its visit to the Barcelona fair.
On the other hand, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo will bet on the same photo quality as the rest of its high-end mobiles. In total, up to 8.1 megapixels will present what the sensor of this terminal, which as is tradition, will record HD quality video with a height of 720 lines.
