Sony begins updating some of its advanced mobiles to the latest version of Android. This has been confirmed on his official blog. And these will be the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo V and Xperia Ray, three terminals that belonged to the previous generation before the creation of the Sony Mobile division, the current one in charge of the manufacture and development of, for example, the latest Sony Xperia generation.
As Samsung has done with its Samsung Galaxy S2, Sony is also updating the terminals in its catalog. Three of them will be the first to receive the long-awaited new version of Google's mobile platform: Android 4.0. And their names are Sony Ericsson Xperia Arcs S, Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V and Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray.
However, from Sony itself it has been commented that these three models will not be the only ones to receive this improvement. And it is that the list of the following terminals to update to Android 4.0 has also been published. The following terminals will be: Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY —hybrid terminal between smartphone and console—, Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini and Mini Pro —the latter with full sliding keyboard—, Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro, Sony Ericsson Xperia Active and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman. Of course, Sony has not commented on what the order will be, although it is known thatthe manufacturer's intention is for it to arrive at the end of May or the beginning of June - everything will depend on the market and the operator.
On the other hand, the first units of the first three models to receive Android 4.0 will be those that belong to the free market followed, of course, by the models subsidized by mobile operators. The new version of the Google platform will arrive at the units in a phased manner - in Spain it should have already started.
On the other hand, the Sony Tablet S - the larger of the two models sold by the manufacturer - also gets its dose of Ice Cream Sandwich. And among the new features that users will be able to find —both the updated smartphones and the tablet— are the following: possibility of accessing the notifications section or the camera directly from the lock screen; that is, without the need to unlock the equipment. It is also possible to take panoramic photos.
On the other hand, you can also edit photos directly from the computers as well as create folders on the home screen by dragging the icons to others and dropping or, enjoy a faster and more efficient Internet browser.
Lastly, in order to update all the equipment, the customer must download the PC Companion program —available for both Windows and Mac computers. Once downloaded and installed, you just have to connect the mobile or tablet to the computer using a USB port and follow the instructions. Of course, as always, it will be advisable to make a backup of all the information that is stored in the terminals.
