A decade. This has been the time in which two companies have been working together: the Japanese Sony and the Swedish Esricsson. From this relationship many mobile phones have been created, both entry-level and high-end such as the Sony Ericsson Xperia. However, the Japanese company has bought all the shares of the Swedish group -which until now consisted of 50 percent-, and as of next January 1, 2012, the Sony Ericsson collaboration will cease to exist to become part as one more division of Sony. Ericsson, for its part, will only focus on the telecommunications sector.
Thus, Sony, in addition to having sectors as important as televisions, computers, tablets, cameras and video consoles in its catalog, will now add the mobile sector. Throughout the next year 2012, the company will dedicate itself to the development of new terminals that it will add to its catalog and that, in addition, also want to create a platform where advanced mobiles are interconnected with other elements of the home.
What's more, one of the most recent Sony Ericsson models, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, already integrates the Play Station video game platform in a very dignified way. In addition, this platform is likewise integrated into tablets Japanese manufacturer: the Sony Tablet S and Sony Tablet P. Two touch devices that, in addition to offering a good browsing experience with screens larger than mobile, also become fundamental elements in this future platform.
On the other hand, Sandra López (Marketing Director of Sony Ericsson Iberia), has commented on the good numbers that have involved integrating the Google mobile platform in its terminals. For what he has hinted that Android will continue to be the bet for the future in which Sony focuses for its future models.
