Are you one of those who are waiting like rain in May for the update to Android 7.0 Nougat ? The Sony company has launched the update for the Sony Xperia X Performance, Sony Xperia XZ and Sony Xperia X, although it should also arrive shortly for the Sony Xperia X Compact, Sony Xperia Z5, Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet and Sony Xperia Z3 +. However, we will most likely not be able to enjoy this data package until well into the new year 2017. But it seems that the Japanese manufacturer does not want to stop working in this regard. Today we learned that Sony has the firm intention ofbecome the first manufacturer to install Android 7.1.1 Nougat on their devices. The development team behind Xperia Concept has indicated that this is their number one priority.
The company has alerted consumers, indicating that if they detect any other manufacturer - excluding Google, of course - that is able to roll out the update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat faster than they, they start preparing for a launch of tomatoes. Apparently, the Sony team is already working with the source code of the version, waiting for the suite (GMS apps) and the Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) that Google has to provide them to arrive. However, while it is true that the data package is already in the Sony laboratory, it seems clear that users of theSony devices will not have the opportunity to test the operation of Android 7.1.1 Nougat on their terminals until 2017.
The update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat will bring important news. To begin with, a redesign of part of the user interface elements is expected. For example, new shortcuts have been added with the application icons, so that we can make calls, send messages and many other gestures just by holding down the finger. But this is not all, because the suggestions have been modified, now with a gray background color and without dividing lines, and a new section called Movements has been incorporated: from here users can give orders to the device so that, for example, just by lifting the mobile the notifications that we have pending appear.
Users who are obsessed with freeing up space on their device will also be in luck, because the new version of Android will include a system by which all those photos and videos that are already saved in a backup will be deleted, 90 days after their capture. From now on, stickers and GIFS will also be sent from the keyboard, a window has been added for updates in which it will be indicated when the last update has been made and security reports will be offered through Google newsletters.
The update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat will still take time to reach most devices, more if we consider that so far, only one of twenty devices equipped with Android works through the latest version.
