The Japanese company Sony has officially unveiled a small preview of what could be the successor to the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. In the form of a photograph showing a mobile profile, Sony has published through its official Twitter a message encouraging users to " be on the lookout for the next 'big thing' this year ". Presumably we are facing the Sony Xperia Z2 Ultra, a new smartphone that would become part of the range of phablets of the major manufacturers.
The design of the mobile that appears in this photograph reveals that we are facing a terminal that shares a very similar aspect to the Sony Xperia Z2. On one side we can see the power button, so it is to be assumed that the arrangement of the rest of the buttons will also be similar to that of the flagship of this manufacturer (the Xperia Z2). A detail that we should not let go unnoticed is that this mobile appears covered by what appear to be a few drops of water, so we could be facing the confirmation that would reveal that the Sony Xperia Z2 Ultra will be waterproof.
In addition to this photograph, the information that we know today about the Sony Xperia Z2 Ultra (or Sony Xperia Z Ultra 2) is quite limited. We assume that the screen size will remain at a figure close to 6.4 inches, also respecting the FullHD resolution. In addition, it is most likely that the operating system installed as standard is Android in its latest version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
The reason why we talk about the term phablet is because this type of mobile incorporates a screen size that is halfway between a mobile and a tablet. In the case of the first Sony Xperia Z Ultra, the standard built-in screen was 6.4 inches, which is significantly larger than the five inches we are used to in conventional smartphones.
Recall that the first Sony Xperia Z Ultra incorporated within a processor of four cores reaching a clock speed of 2.2 GHz in company with a memory RAM of 2 gigabytes. The internal storage capacity was 16 GigaBytes, and in addition the user had at his disposal a microSD card slot that allowed a maximum of 64 GigaBytes of additional storage. The main camera sensor incorporating eight megapixels, and one of the most criticized details of this aspect was the absence of a flash LED to improve lighting in photographs taken indoors.
We will be attentive to the events that take place in the coming weeks in the official accounts of Sony's social networks. Recall that the Japanese have not confirmed that we are facing the successor of the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, so we could also be talking about a new mobile that has not yet been officially revealed.
