Having a powerful smartphone is no longer enough: the rush in the update schedule has become an important differentiating factor. And manufacturers are increasingly rushing the deadlines to update their reference terminals. In this sense, the Japanese Sony, which has been improving in this regard with each new launch, has it clear with the arrival of Android 4.4. KitKat. What today is the most recent version of Google's platform for smartphones and tablets will have its place among the most powerful devices, although before it will be necessary to pay the toll of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The edition that was surpassed a couple of weeks ago is not yet present in the high-end range of the firm, although we will not have to wait too long. According to the Japanese company itself, in a period of approximately one month, a good handful of devices will make the jump to the third installment of Jelly Bean.
The teams that will account for Android 4.3 will be the Sony Xperia Z, Sony Xperia ZL, Sony Xperia ZR, Sony Xperia Tablet Z, Sony Xperia SP, Sony Xperia Z Ultra, Sony Xperia Z1, Sony Xperia T, Sony Xperia TX and Sony Xperia V. If we note one by one, we find that some of these terminals currently run on Android 4.1, like the Sony Xperia T, Xperia TX Sony Xperia V and Sony. In these cases, Android 4.3 will bridge to the version that precedes it.
Once the whole family is aware of this system issue, the update to Android 4.4 KitKat would begin. In this sense, the Japanese firm has confirmed that it would be the most recently launched devices that would receive the expected update. We refer to the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, Sony Xperia Z1, Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL Sony, Sony Xperia Z Ultra and Sony Xperia Tablet Z. Unfortunately, the forecast does not advance estimated dates, so the confirmation could be a little known to the users of these teams, since it was taken for granted that they would be included in the KitKat upgrade roadmap.
In recent days, the possibility of a leap between versions had come to be considered that would bridge, as we have said, one of the editions. However, this scenario was revealed precisely for the terminals of the latest Sony batch, which would pass by Android 4.3 to be placed on Android 4.4 from Android 4.2, and we have already seen that Sony only contemplates that arc for some of its smartphones prior to this hit.
However, it only remains to call the owners of each of the indicated devices to be patient, with the hope that, at least, for them the update program will be a reality between December and the first half of next year. On the other hand, Google announced that Android 4.4 has a system architecture that makes it possible to operate in mid-range terminals, with which this list could be expanded, although this is another issue that, at this time, is on hold.
