Honor, the sub-brand of the Chinese company Huawei, is going to launch the Honor 8 smartphone, which will have a 5.2-inch screen and a 12-megapixel dual camera. At the moment, other more specific details are unknown, such as the resolution of the screen, but in many ways it will be a model quite similar to the Huawei P9, which went on sale a few weeks ago.
Some technical characteristics
Although many of these specifications are yet to be confirmed, the leaks point to a smartphone with quite interesting features, probably in the line of the Huawei P9. The Honor 8 will use a Kirin 950 or Kirin 955 processor, supported by a 4 GB RAM and a battery that will probably exceed 3000 mAh.
It would be necessary to know other details (such as the resolution of the screen) to better understand the autonomy that the battery would offer, but everything seems to indicate that it will not disappoint.
The connectivity options are also worth noting, since the Honor 8 could incorporate the option of wireless charging, as well as infrared remote control functions (yes, infrared returns to mobile phones!)
Another smartphone with dual camera and USB type C
Honor 8 incorporate a dual 12 megapixel camera, in line with other similar models that have come to the market recently: the Honor V8 and Huawei P9. These three phones are also characterized by having a USB Type-C connection, a growing trend in the mobile market.
The striking design features also include an aluminum frame with 2.5D curved glass at the rear, marking the first Honor release to feature rear glass. In fact, the brand wants the Honor 8 to be known as “the most beautiful smartphone on the market”.
Launch and availability
The exact official launch date of the Honor 8 is not yet known, but it could occur throughout the month of June. Taking into account the technical characteristics that have been leaked, we could assume that the price will be between 340 and 390 euros approximately, but it is difficult to know exactly the price strategy that the company will follow when it puts it on sale in the different markets.
A review of the features of the Honor V8
The Honor 8 could hit the market as a "little brother" of the Honor V8, a smartphone that has been launched recently and has a 5.7-inch screen and 12 + 12 megapixel dual cameras. Many of the features of these two models are similar, although more details about the new Honor 8 (such as screen resolution) would need to be known to determine all the common specifications and all the differences.
The Honor V8 has a "" nothing more and nothing less "" 3500 mAh battery, a 4 GB RAM and a HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor. There are two screen resolutions available: 1080 x 1920 pixels or 1440 x 2560 pixels.
Knowing this… Will the Honor 8 be a smartphone with 2K resolution?
