With the expected arrival of the Android 4.3 update for the Samsung Galaxy S3, some users have found that when updating their terminal to the latest version of Android they have started to suffer errors that they had not had before. The errors that have been reported on the network in relation to the problems with the update of the Samsung Galaxy S3 are very varied: from spontaneous reboots of the phone to problems with using the browser normally.
Given that these problems have generated mistrust in all users who were planning to update their terminal, below we compile a summary of the most frequent errors detected so far along with their corresponding solution.
1. - My phone has turned off and won't turn on anymore
This is probably one of the most common errors that is repeated in phones of all manufacturers and with updates of any kind. The solution is not easy, but if we find that our phone no longer turns on, the possible solutions we have are the following:
- We connect the phone to the power and let it charge for five minutes. If after this time the screen still does not respond (not even to show us the charging icon), we must disconnect the phone from the power and remove the battery. Then we press and hold the power button for a few seconds, re-insert the battery and again connect the phone to the power. If the mobile still does not turn on, it is probably time to buy a new battery.
- There is also the possibility that the USB cable we are using is worn out, so before sending the phone for service it would be advisable to try another cable.
2. - The photo gallery takes a long time to open
If when trying to access our photo gallery or when taking a photograph we notice that the phone becomes extremely slow, the only solution we have is to perform a mobile restoration. Through this process we will return our phone to the original state that it came from the factory, although as a negative part we must know that we will lose the data stored in the terminal.
3. - The screen has been frozen with the Samsung logo
If our phone gets stuck on the home screen just after trying to update it to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the steps we must follow are the following:
- We remove the battery from the phone for a minute.
- We reinsert the battery and press the Volume Up, Start and Power buttons at the same time.
- If everything goes well and the phone emits a small vibration, we must release the Power button while we continue to hold down the other two buttons.
- In the event that the phone responds to this action, we should see a menu in which different options appear in English. We have to use the Volume Down button to place ourselves on top of the " Wipe Cache Partition " option. Once we have selected this option, we press the Power button.
- The phone should restart and, if everything has gone well, in principle we could already make normal use of the phone.
4. - I have problems with the mobile browser
Some users have also detected some anomalies when using the phone's browser after the update (pages that do not close, links that cannot be opened, etc.). To solve all these problems, the most likely remedy of success is the following:
- First we go to the list of applications on our mobile and look for the application that has the name " Settings ".
- We enter the application and click on the upper tab of " More ".
- Now click on the option " Application manager ".
- A new screen will open in which we must slide to the last tab of " All ". To do this, we simply have to drag the screen from the right to the left, and so on until we reach the last tab of all.
- In the list of applications that will be shown, we must find the browser that is giving us problems on the mobile (Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet -the default browser of the phone-, etc.)
- When we have found our browser, click on its name and then click on the " Force stop " button. Then we also click on the " Clear data " and " Clear cache " button, although we must know that through this action we will lose all the data stored in our browser.
- In principle, if we reopen the browser we should be able to use it normally. If not, we can only resort to Samsung's technical service.
