The MASMOVIL Group today announced that it is launching service trials of 5G technology in 15 Spanish cities. Initially, this technology will be available only to Yoigo customers, which has a complete catalog of 5G mobiles. As you surely know, this technology allows customers to enjoy, among other things, higher speed and the connection of various devices without lag.
The cities chosen for the tests of Yoigo's 5G service have been Alicante, Alcobendas, Almería, Ávila, Barcelona, Hospitalet de Llobregat, Huesca, Jaén, Madrid, Malaga, Melilla, Orense, Salamanca, Seville and Valencia. New towns will be added to these 15 cities in the coming months.
To offer 5G coverage, the MASMOVIL Group uses a combination of its own network, with the deployment of its own 5G antennas, with an agreement it has with Orange Spain. The latter allows you to offer these services to your customers under the same quality of service conditions that Orange offers to its customers.
5G technology is launched at Yoigo and will be available at no additional cost to all its customers, both fiber + mobile convergence and mobile only.
80MHz of spectrum and 5G mobiles to take full advantage of this technology
The MASMOVIL Group has 80 MHz of 5G spectrum in the 3.5 GHz band, which was acquired at a price close to 4 times lower than the average price of the auction held in 2018. Taking into account this data, it is the operator with the largest amount of 5G spectrum per customer in Spain, doubling the spectrum per customer available by the competition.

The operator chosen for the test has been Yoigo because, among other things, it has a wide variety of 5G terminals in its catalog. To cite a few examples, Yoigo customers can purchase the Samsung Galaxy S20 + 5G, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G 128GB or even the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G.
