Samsung is preparing Android 9 Pie in the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, the new version of Google's operating system will soon arrive at the latest Korean terminal. As you surely know, Android Pie does not incorporate many aesthetic novelties, but Samsung will make a design change in its next layer of customization, which will be Experience 10. Xda Developers has had access to some images and shows us what its design will be like.
There are many images we have on the interface, and many changes that will come with this Galaxy Note 9. First, we must highlight the dark theme. It is something that the company will change completely, in all the elements of the interface. The main apps will have this theme, email, alarms, dialer… Even the keyboard. In addition, it will have a black hue to be compatible with the OLED screen, and therefore, it consumes less autonomy.
Another highlight of the Galaxy Note 9 interface are the elements, which will be more rounded. Notifications, settings and windows will have rounded corners, adapting to Google's style. Another differential aspect has to do with the home screen, which will also have some changes. For example, the navigation bar will change, we can even add a gesture control. These will not work like in Android 9 Sotck, but rather Samsung will take it to their ground.
Each area at the bottom will have its gesture. For example, if we slide up in the center, we will give access to home. If we slide in the right area, we will open the notification panel and on the left the back button. We can also change the position of the buttons, as can already be done.
Improvements in shortcuts, S Pen and camera app
The shortcuts in the upper area will change to more rounded icons and will have a transparent design. In addition, we see the date and time in the upper area, something very similar to iOS 12. Bixby Home will also have more rounded elements.
As you surely know, the S Pen is the digital pen that makes the Note family so distinctive. In this case, big changes are not expected in terms of functions, but some in design. Applications that use the S Pen, such as the notes app, will change to a more current style than what Google implements in Android 9 Pie. The functions and settings will remain the same.
Finally, we must highlight the changes in the camera application. Now the shortcuts to go to the different modes will be located in the lower area, and the options that were there will go to the upper area. In this way, access to the modes will be much faster. The camera settings are the same with Android 8.0 Oreo as with Android Pie.
It is important to mention that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is not officially receiving Android 9 Pie. This is a closed beta exclusively for developers, and according to the source, it is full of errors. Samsung will gradually update and mature its customization layer until it reaches a final version, it is likely that we will have it by the end of this year. It's time to wait, at least for Samsung to launch the beta version.
