Huawei started rolling out curved AMOLED displays earlier this year with the arrival of the Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design. But it was not until the Mate 20 Pro that the company has brought these panels to devices for all audiences. According to a new leak, it seems that far from disappearing they have come to stay. Everything indicates that next year the next flagship of the Asian company, known as Huawei P30 Pro, would have this type of curved AMOLED screen , which would be manufactured by LG or BOE (the two companies that currently manufacture the Mate panel. 20 Pro).
However, unlike the Huawei Nova 4, which could be announced shortly, this terminal would not have a hole in the panel. Failing that, Huawei would add a notch or notch to the front, an element that is already beginning to become obsolete in the high-end. Manufacturers are beginning to bet on this type of small hole in order to house the front sensor and make it more space for the main screen.
In the filtered image this notch (of considerable size) and the curved panel are perfectly appreciated. The reduction of frames is evident, although it would not be as much as in the case of the next Nova 4. All this would have an explanation. Currently, the only OLED screen manufacturer capable of creating these types of perforations in its panels is Samsung. And, of course, the South Korean giant is reserving these screens for its own devices. So companies like Huawei have two options in the meantime. Either stick with the controversial notch, or choose a lower LCD panel. Of course, that the Nova range has an LCD screen would not be a problem, but it would not be the case for Huawei's most premium device.
Now, we do not know if the manufacturer would have reserved this possibility only for the Pro model, for that reason to include a better panel, and if it would also do the same with the standard version or the Lite, or with both. It is likely that in the end the Huawei P30 or P30 Lite will come with an LCD screen with this type of hole included. We will have to wait to see what happens. We will be very aware of new information to give you more information when appropriate.
