LG is expected to announce an advanced version of the LG V30 at this year's Mobile World Congress. Rumors held so far that it could be christened LG V30 Alpha. Apparently, finally, it would come under the name of LG V30s. In the last hours some features of this new model have been leaked. It would be very similar to the standard version, although it would improve some features. It would be available with a larger storage capacity, 256 GB. In addition, the camera would incorporate artificial intelligence functions. It is speculated that the LG V30s will land in the South Korean market on March 9.
Improvements over its predecessors
The LG V30 and V30 + models that were launched last year feature 64GB and 128GB of internal storage, respectively. However, the next LG V30s would offer 256GB of native storage. As for the appearance of the smartphone, it would be identical to the LG V30: tempered glass and 6-inch OLED infinite screen with QHD + resolution. The processor would once again be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. It would also mount dual 16 megapixel rear cameras, a 5 megapixel front camera, as well as a 3,300 mAh capacity battery.
What would mainly differentiate the LG V30s from the LG V30 and V30 + is the LG Lens function. In fact, the LG V30s would be the company's first smartphone to include it. This feature would bring artificial intelligence capabilities to the phone's camera. It would work like Bixby Vision on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8 or Google Lens on Google's Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
If a user took a photo of a product through the camera of the LG V30s with the LG Lens function activated, the details of that article could be made available through the Internet. Once the image was recognized, similar products and other items with similar prices could be found. LG Lens would support barcode recognition and QR code identification. It would also include support for translating into other languages. Thus, when we capture an image with English text using the camera, it will be automatically translated into the language we select.
But this is not all, through GPS the LG V30s would be able to calculate the user's real-time location and provide information on nearby places based on the direction and angle of the camera. This feature, which would be called Augmented Reality, would recommend the fastest route to users and would also display information on popular restaurants.
Price and availability
As we say, the LG V30s would be presented during the next Mobile World Congress this year. The fair will take place in Barcelona from February 26 to March 1. It is expected that some of the most important mobiles of the year will be announced during those days. In addition to the LG V30s, Samsung would also show its new Galaxy S9. I would do it one day before the opening of the event, on February 25. Rumors indicate that both these devices and the LG V30s would see the light of day in South Korea on March 9. The price of the latter would oscillate around 900 euros. We hope to have all the details in the coming weeks to inform you promptly.
