It was an open secret. A leak has just revealed the technical specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini, the simple and inexpensive version of the flagship of the South Korean company Samsung: the Samsung Galaxy S5. This new smartphone will feature a slightly smaller screen than its older brother, because instead of 5.1 inches we will find a panel of 4.5 inches with Super AMOLED with a resolution of 720 pixels.
But the data that we have been able to learn thanks to the leak does not end there. Inside the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini it is formed by a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 of four cores that operate at a clock rate still unknown. The RAM memory will be set at 1.5 GigaBytes (something curious considering that we are used to round figures when talking about this specific specification). The internal storage capacity will offer a space of 16 GigaBytes, and although the leak does not mention any additional data in this regard, we assume that there will also be a slot for external memory cardsmicroSD.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini will come standard with the Android operating system in its latest version of Android 4.4 KitKat. Although we speak of a simple version of the Galaxy S5, the main camera should offer us some snapshots more than acceptable thanks to its sensor eight megapixels. The front camera, however, is limited to incorporate a sensor two megapixels designed to provide a typical quality video calls. All these specifications will be sustained with a battery that will incorporate a capacity of 2,100 milliamps.
From here we have doubts in relation to the remaining specifications of this smartphone. For starters, there are quite a few chances that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is water and dust resistant just like its big brother. We must also bear in mind that the Samsung Galaxy S5 incorporates an interesting security measure consisting of a digital fingerprint scanner, and we also hope that this detail will appear in the new Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini as it would be a really interesting addition for lovers of the privacy (and, why not say, comfort).
Both the price and the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini are, at the moment, a mystery. Some sources agree that it is most likely that Samsung will decide to launch this new smartphone during the month of June, although there is no official data that confirms or denies this approximate date. What does seem quite obvious is the price, since taking into account that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will cost approximately 700 euros, it is most likely that its " Mini " version comes with a starting price of around 300 or even 400 euros.
